Yeah but although not popular anymore, it's still a name that is given where allowed. The variations of it especially are still used.

If he did not care, then why did he insist on naming all four kid according to Islamic norms? Also,he once in an interview said that he believes in a God-made religion like Islam and not any 'man made religion'.
Saif has been a religious Muslim since his childhood. Do some reading on him. His father ensured he got proper religious training from a very young age.
@bold - its a personal choice IMO - he can give all his kids Islamic names if he wants to and it doesn't seem like it matters to Kareena either. Coming to the second part, personal belief and faith. To each their own. As long as he is not spreading hatred against other religions or hates people from different backgrounds, shouldn't matter to anyone.

I know that coercion comes in different forms and I myself was only referring to psychological coercion. I didn't say that Amrita came up with those names, I was saying that Amrita is a strong woman so why would she have agreed to the names Ibrahim and Sara? She doesn't seem like the type to give into that pressure. My point was that maybe out of their list of names, both Saif and Amrita liked Sara and Ibrahim best which is why they ended up with those names. Same with him and Kareena. Just like how SRK-Gauri, Amir-wives, and Sanjay Dutt-Manyata named their kids. I just find it weird that this thread has become about religion.
Because it's very evident that they were coerced in some manner. Otherwise why would they agree to keep both kids' names as Muslims? Does it sound natural to assume that they did not think of ANY Hindu/Sikh names even once and thought of only Muslim names?
And anyone can be coerced, no matter how strong they are.

It's a personal choice, definitely. But it also seems disrespectful to erase his wife's heritage and put only his stamp on his children. And I don't think anyone would be 'fine with it'unless they ere coerced/convinced in some way.
And Saif can be as religious as he likes, that's not the point. I was responding to a poster who asked if Saif was religious.

Gulzar is a Sikh who, when moved to India after partition changed his name to Gulzar.
In an interview on TV I once watched, he said he took up a Muslim name to show how little it means. 😆
Taimur was fine! no idea what the fuss was about.
but Jehangir for the second son,is trying too hard.there is a good chance the child would hate this old fashioned name.Akbar would have been better...Babur,even Humayun,I guess.
Thank god it is not Aurungzeb😆

Hmmm. That makes sense I guess. But not many people would consider cousins on the same level as a brother, it seems you two are really close. 👍🏼

I am asking how many Adolf roam around who are Canadian, French, British, Polish, Russian or American?
No clue but it is a name or variation of that name that is used in some European countries. It's obviously not a popular name though. See what I feel is that if people want to give their kids certain names then sure whatever but if they are going to go all out and give their kids the full name (first and last) of an evil person then that is truly problematic and disturbing.
