I don't think there is any lawyer who would only defends innocents. If that's his/her attitude then he/she would've a tough time finding clients.

Whether innocent or guilty, every citizen deserves a fair trial and for that they need a lawyer. And the job of a lawyer is to get the best deal possible for his/her client from the judiciary system.

You're in a relationship with a lawyer who is a great boyfriend/girlfriend. But as you get to know each other, you realize that in his/her profession, he/she defends all sorts of criminals from murderers, rapists to drug dealers, even puts innocent people in jail for his/her job and to further his/her career.

@bold - This is what made me choose what I choose , not the defending criminals but sending innocents to further his/her career .

I know ideally there is no other way , but doing job is one thing but sending innocents to jail to go further in career is what I can't abide in my Partner. Your ambition shouldn't deter your moral compass .
