No. Angrez means British. And a Briton can be of any colour. Dictionary meanings don't always go with the implied meaning when it comes to race and nationality.

Michael still isn’t British so . He is a Black American. You can use plenty of other examples instead of bringing Michael in this .

Angrez can mean both British AND American (according to coloquial usage by Indians). The point is, that whether British or American (or ANY European) whites aren't the only Americans or British.

Are you trying to say that Americans/Britons who are Black, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, Indian, etc. do not qualify as 'angrez'? I'm sorry, but that's utterly racist. Michael is as angrez as Paul McCartney.

I somehow don’t like Hollywood musicals. Find them boring even if the story is good. Did not enjoy films like Moulin Rouge, Les Misrables and Grease for this reason. I don’t think I can watch SoM too.

I hated HAHK when it released but over the years while watching it on tv again, I have come to enjoy it. Songs were cute and very hummable and the story was simple but memorable.

MR, Les Miz, Grease (the only one of these three films I like) have very little in common with The Sound Of Music or any other Rogers & Hammerstein Musical. Or Lerner & Lowe. Or a musical with Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly or Judy Garland. Or one directed by Vincent Minelli , Robert Wise or Busby Berkley. The heyday of American musicals lasted from the 1930s to the mid 60s. After that like Westerns they were sporadically made and its a rare one if any that's comparable to the greatest musicals of that era.

If you want more conflict and passion in a musical I'd recommend the original West Side Story with fantastic music and dance.

Thank you for the insight and forgive my ignorance in this regard. I learnt something today. Hmm, probably might give it a try then.
