People died because of the lack of hospital facilities and O2. Vaccines are not medicines. Vaccine is a prevention method only not a cure, as in it cannot help the people who are already infected.

The vaccines could have reduced the number of people from ending up at the hospitals I guess . We will never know what could have been given how much things went south in a relatively short period of time 😞.
