I think she's basically saying that despite being a product of nepotism, she still failed to make it.
Meaning that nepotism isn't the sole reason other insiders are able to keep a career afloat in Bollywood.
Nepotism did give her a headstart but she couldn't get audience approval.
Amazing 👏 These people really live in their bubble. She failed despite coming from film background...big deal...she became a producer from her brother in law movies. She was given a chance to produce. Audience rejected her from her debut movie itself but She got a YRF film as her debut which common people dont even get. Some only stand in line and dream about it. She got a debut film without auditions. She was offered on a silver platter. No struggle at all. Despite having her a flop debut movie, she got a second movie to try her luck again. There are so many outsiders that dont even get a chance to get a second film after having a flop debut. I agree Nepotism is everywhere, we common people also do that. Atleast they should accept that in their industry Nepotism is there. Outsiders have to work twice as hard to have half of what Nepotism kids have.
I came across this quote so thought of sharing
"Nepotism is a disease, which cannot be transmitted but can only be inherited.

You're being too nice to her. That's not what she said at all. She actually suggested outsiders don't face the same difficulties star kids do. Basically implying they're separate kinds of struggle but equal.
They are in no way equal.
Oh, and also that she failed because of expectations. #eyeroll
Nepotism did not fail her
She failed nepotism, because someone with her contacts and even a mediocre level of talent could have made a decent career out of it. All she has achieved despite her contacts is being the most whiny, annoying Bigg Boss contestant
neal and nikki wasn't her debut, it was her RELAUNCH. So she got umpteen chances.
and failure? Doesn't she run some division of her bro-in-law's production company?
They were also dating right ? 😆

What! A relaunch? She had a debut before Neal and Nikki? No outsider gets a relaunch
But if they took an outsider in Neal N Nicki instead of her, the film would have less attention. The only reason my whole family went to the cinema to watch the atrocious film was to see Kajol's little sister. Those days I was not brave enough to walk out, as I should have, but that's another discussion.
The fact is: audiences drive the market for nepotism to thrive. Look at Baby Taimur, he had fan-clubs since he was 2 weeks old. The fanbase is already there for star kids. And then the same fans criticise the system which we have created.
Neal Nikki movie had great songs
