Different is good but that doesn't mean cliches are bad yr. Take novels only...i hear so many digs about wattpad and fan fiction every single day on booktwt and yet every year 1-2 writers on an avg get published from wattpad.

If an arc is well written, explored and flaws are redeemed, fair enough. But I also feel there are some boundaries and dealbreakers that have a point of no return. They just should never be shown. But I guess apart from universally agreed ones, some boundaries and lines just varies from one person to the next. Also, when I say tropes, it isnt limited to characters (leads or otherwise) only, its also certain plot devices and story lines. Especially ones that are not only toxic but also regressive.

@Bold. Agreed. I like seeing different content but I also indulge in cliches. Wattpad is like any other platform. Has the good and bad. Was on it eons ago, it does have brilliant writers. One book I particularly remember and I would recommend is the The Quirky Tale of April Hale. Not sure if its still there though.
