financial responsibility, visit doctors with her during pregnancy and maybe some emotional support to child. Taking responsibility doesn’t mean only marrying the mother. It can be like how they show in most of western shows

I think taking financial responsibility is not alwyas about money. It is to tell the child that he/she is not abandoned by father. Sense of abandanoment can affect child psychologically so taking the financial and some emotional responsibility will give be good for their growth.

People get divorced after having kids and many times single parent(mothers mostly) get custody. Father can visit sometimes and take financial responsibility. I think Ahaan is suggesting to do that. I don’t see why would people live in unhappy marriage only for kid.

I understand that kind of support but in Indian setup it doesn't work like that. The child will be like hamara khoon and dadi will go berserk in support of the kid.

Also, how can he even propose responsibility without telling Ishqi, and he can't just assume that Ishqi will be okay with him having a child with his ex-gf.

We as an audience know that but I don't think Daadi and Rhea are aware of how deep his feelings and loyalty run for Ishqi, and more importantly his fear of turning like his mother and betraying their relationship. They're somehow under the impression that Ahaan is under pyaar ka bukhaar which will eventually go away.

Thats the root cause of everything happening. Rhea had actually given up but dadi's open efforts to break Ishqaan gave her hope

She is doing that coz blame will go on Ahaan because getting pregnant while engaged to someone is not as bad as getting pregnant with ex-boyfriend while engaged to someone..

Also Rhea's mother told one of the episodes that her boyfriend refused her already

Her father doesn't know about her pregnancy yet...she is trying to play the victim game

Once Ahaan accepts the baby she will try to separate Ishqaan, all she needs right now is a husband who accepts the baby

Why can't her mother cook up a story and get Rhea settled somewhere abroad?
