Yup, AAA is one of my favourite actors and he would excel in any role but if they had to resort to skin darkening then it would have been best to cast a tanned actor like Faizan or Mohib. Take those actors, give them bad hairstyles and outfits. Simple prosthetics can get the job done too.

why does this character need to be tan in the first place

Don't ask me man, I am only saying that if that's what they really wanted then it's better to get someone who already is tanned. The thing is the "dark skin is ugly" belief is still prevalent and heavily ingrained in some societies around the world; one of them being Pakistani society. This is also why showbiz continues to perpetuate that stereotype too. They are reflecting the opinions of the larger population. Look at all the actors and actresses who have gotten whitening injections. What they should be doing is use the medium to change this mindset instead they continue to perpetuate it further. I was looking forward to this show because of AAA but now this has turned me off.

It's not blackface if you aren't trying to portray a black person. This would be brownface. Why a brown person needs to be in brownface is beyond me. Why anyone needs to be in brown or blackface is beyond me. Has there been any backlash to the promos? These celebrities are only fake woke and performative activists. If all the leads went to the makers and condemned them for even trying this, they could've avoided it and figured out another way.

It’s just general now. Justin Trudeau dressed up as Aladdin long time ago, and he was accused of black face and he had to apologize, even though he was trying to be brown.

I don't see anything wrong in showing AAA as a brown guy here , because it is the character's demand. Also let's face it.. it happens in our society that ppl bully ppl for different reasons.🤔 I too wish they casted an actor who has a brown skin.. but can't deny that I am happy that AAA got this role.

People do use it interchangeably but that's also problematic because brown people were always ignored as it is. Gotta call it for what it is. As for JT, they do refer to it as brown face here. Every time it's mentioned on the news they usually say brown face.
