but on a serious note yes the lines are definitely a bit more cheesy than usual, even anokhi's dialogues today were a bit more dramatic than what she usually says, especially when we think about how practical she has always been. when we compare this conversation to her words when they had the confrontation post their confession when she was trying to pull away from him, certain lines of hers seem a bit much.
@Bold- I was thinking about that. And the fact that this dude got his own version of Channa Mereya while showering those petals. Well, when dude said Ek jimmedaar policewaala...err, clearly he wasn't lying.
Now, you know Shrut I was just watching Kapurthala episodes of Anokhi's engagement and how she was suddenly back to staring at her phone screen, eyeing the college and then the trophy photographs and I know the scenario here is very different and she is in love and wants this marriage but the way she used to say things and recently even the way she was in the sindoor episode. She has been pretty straight unlike other female leads. Her way of doing and saying things have been very on the face. Like you and me would do. Like people in general behave. So when today she got lines like- Exam ki topper pyaar ke intehaan mein fail hogayi and then grace marks se pass kar dijiye. I couldn't help but cringe so hard.
The entire scene worked only because Deba is so good at crying scenes and then these two have that kind of chemistry. Or maybe it was just me who couldn't relate with the emotions and then the editing and lighting. Like I actually went back to rewatch and then tried again...but well.

lol but from now on we lay off on ahir he is redeeming himself by showering shakhi with flowers from all the bouquets he hoped to give anokhi 🤣 i haven't seen this jimmedaar policewala go to work in days he has been too busy party planning
Exactly that's my point too! And you know I'll wait until we see tomorrow's episode to fully pass judgement but something I was thinking was how she didn't even address Shaurya's changed dynamic with Aastha yet right. That was the condition she put forward to accept their first marriage right? And she hasn't really bothered to ask how did this happen, how did you reconcile, etc etc. I'll give it to her for now because it's a lot to process but I hope we get it. And also the lines "I can't breathe without you" "I go around being really strong but I'm not" I get what they were trying to convey but I felt there are subtler ways to get across the same sentiment! Like the scene when he finds out why she did what she did, that was really well done on both sides and the dialogues and emotions were spot on!
And you're right, it really worked well because Deba does an amazing job at these types of scenes so she delivered those lines convincingly.

@Bold- Hey don't question his hardwork. Yesterday picking up Vineet like that wasn't that easy too.
Now, exactly that was the first condition she put forward to accept their marriage and initially in the Shagan I was like ..okay she is too consumed with the heartbreak and there is a lot for her to take in but when we got scenes were Shaurya addressed Aastha as Maa and then went ahead recording when Aastha was singing, that's where I was left genuinely confused and dissapointed because even though she is hurting and distracted Anokhi is not that character who will act that dense and will refuse to acknowledge the changes that are so evident.
She has been really strong in handling herself well so the extent of this distraction definitely doesn't work.
And then giving her dialogues where she is like "I go around acting really strong but I am not" I definitely get that it's just her giving up with the facade and accepting that it's not easy and she is falling apart but ...when I think about it isn't she the same woman who actually said - We are adults. Maybe I will feel the same love for you all my life but let's end it here ...because then at least we will be able to face each other.
So when you go ahead giving her lines like I might breathe but I will not be able to live without you, the 'drama' of it doesn't really make sense.
Because her being in love ....madly and feeling to this extent is one thing but her lines coming accross as if her character is falling apart is another.

same here. I found those entire dialogues of grace marks and all very stupid. Felt disconnected from Anokhi. Even Shaurya saying mai shagun se shadi karunga was weird.

But even in that Shaurya helped him out 🤣 Ahir is only a police officer if Shaurya is around him, otherwise he soesn't work
Right I mean at the end of the day, have the issues she put forward been resolved? Yes, it appears they have been but it would be nice if we got a conversation about that between them rather than the family pyaar circle. And those were the exact dialogues I was thinking about from that post-confession confrontation. She was so sorted during those scenes when she put forward the reasons she didn't think they were compatible. The way she didn't think they could make it work and didn't want them to grow resentful. Those were such powerful dialogues and even today, I think her emotions could have been conveyed better. Just something along the lines of realizing that she can't keep running when things get hard would have made more sense. Because I feel like it was already obvious from their previous conversation after he found out for the first time that Anokhi isn't that strong and she does still love him deeply. The emphasis should have been more on her realizing that she can't keep leaving him when things become difficult and that should have come from her side today without him soliciting such a promise from her.
Exactly! And not to say I didn't enjoy right because overall it was nice, but there were dialogues mixed in that felt out of character as you said.
same here. I found those entire dialogues of grace marks and all very stupid. Felt disconnected from Anokhi. Even Shaurya saying mai shagun se shadi karunga was weird.
Right! And Anokhi just smiling and not reacting to this was also bizarre because when he said that during their post-confession conversation about how Shagun left London/Cambridge for him, Anokhi was clearly salty when she said "go marry her then." So I'm surprised today she didn't react given he's been pretending to get married to Shagun and Shagun has been such a thorn in their side. And Shaurya talking to Shagun yesterday and mentioning that today was definitely weird!!
It's been for a while but the kind of ott dialogues from Anokhi has just gotten stronger to show how desperately she wants to now get married to Shaurya, I guess and that's probably need of the script I believe. My only concern in all this is that it gives off the kind of vibe that Anokhi had when she said in debate "Mein Anokhi Hoon" before being wife or daughter to now priding in being Mrs. Saberwal..
She had that dialogue about failing in love even in Goa in front of Ahir, I believe... So it does not come out to be too surprising. Hopefully we will get original dialogue writers soon.
In general, Anokhi's dialogue after coming to Chandigarh has had some tone that keeps me going that it's normal for Anokhi... For example, Aapne mujhe maara kaise? After he threw flower bouquet at her... And all...

LMAO it came up in another show that was the only reason I knew but I cannot imagine Shaurya being the type to know such a thing. The only reason I love that line is because of the way his voice cracks after when he says "maybe now it's been proven as true" like KV sells the cheese because he delivers it without so much cringe factor but definitely shaurya knowing so much about random traditions and superstitions associated with shaadi rituals is surprising 🤣
Yeah the "this is us" was probs KV trying to remove some of the cringe from having to say shakhi on screen as shaurya 🤣
