If you pay attention to the 4 characters in the new promo: Raghav, Pallavi, Ayi, and Amma, the way it was shot tells you the upcoming sequences are going to test all four of them.
Raghav calling Sharda Ayi means something. I'd always wanted a mother-son kind of angle there, him perhaps helping to fill the void, but in many ways him being the son Mandaar never was. When Mandaar's past and death comes up, will she not feel torn between wishing Pallavi and Raghav well vs. doing her son justice? And if it turns out he wasn't doodh ka dhula after all (which I'm praying is not the case), then siding with Raghav means her actually going against Sanki for her own son this time. Sanki talked about living with her being his majboori, so her siding with Raghav means he's definitely going to break ties with her and Pallavi will be hurt on Ayi's behalf. She can never break of emotional ties with D-fam, no matter what.
As for Pallavi, well, what if Raghav was indeed somehow involved, intentionally or unintentionally? After she understands the whole story will she be able to accept it/him, forgive him, and continue to live with him? Sure, it's easy for us to judge Raghav 1.0 in hindsight, but this Raghav 2.0 we see how was born out of the chance that she herself chose to give him, and that he seized, in order to turn over a new leaf. Does that count for nothing? Wasn't she the one who was trying to make Sanki understand that? Many of you have said that for Pallavi it will be a tug of war between the wife and the daughter, but I also want to add that her core nature of always wanting to stand up for the truth will be overwhelmed by emotions. We don't know what happened in her past, and I'm not sure if we'll see that just yet, but it is likely to have a bearing on how she acts in this situation. Also, Pallavi will probably come back to earth from cloud 9 with the realization that she married a don after all and there will always be gray areas in his personal and professional life. Is she up for that for lifetime?
Amma told Raghav the other day that she wanted to become his mother, finally. They have made peace, but ten years have gone by where she wasn't fully aware of what her son had been up to and to what depths of darkness he may or may not have gone. Having lost a son herself and becoming widowed at the same time, I expect her to understand both Pallavi and Ayi's pain acutely. However, she will also be tested with having to balance this with her commitment to being there for Raghav in his bad times when he needs her the most, because there's no doubt it's going to be really really bad this time. He hasn't considered Pallavi to be his anchor yet but is on his way, so when that journey is disrupted, Amma will have to steady him. Her principles will be questioned too because she might be seen as blindly supporting her son instead of the truth, whereas she will know that by supporting Raghav in this situation, she will not only be sticking to her principles but also be his rock when everyone else turns away from him or doubts him. She will also have to reckon with the fact that his son has been involved in illegal businesses and that he may have done things without thinking of repercussions that will now be highlighted.
Coming to Raghav, I have a feeling being accused of Mandaar's death will take him back to his past again. Keerti still blames him for it, and while he's reconciled with Amma, I don't think he has entirely stopped blaming himself for indirectly causing his brother and father's deaths. He hasn't had closure yet and I believe the writers never touched upon it because they were saving it for future drama. In today's episode, he was summoning his alter ego, which made me think he is going to go back to wondering if he is good man after all. Sure, Pallavi's trust in him and Amma returning to him is helping, but 10 years of doing shady things and not walking down the straight path cannot just be wiped away. He has never been a cruel or sadistic person, but his callousness must have resulted in collateral damage over the years. His taking on the avatar of Ramaswamy is partly his way of assuaging some of his guilt and I don't see that go way.
Also, while a lot of people might think the upcoming track(s) will be about Pallavi's trust in him, I think it's more than just that. More than others, he will probably question himself as a son to Amma and Ayi, as a brother to Keerti, Arjun, and Nikhil (if he comes back), a husband, especially in comparison to Mandaar and/or the image that Pallavi has of a 'perfect husband', and his overall ability to be good. I don't want to see him spending his time proving his innocence to anyone, especially not to Pallavi. I want him to withdraw and just wait until she realizes for herself, just like she did with him regarding the MMS scandal. I am sure the villains will make life hell for him and I can see him being occupied with dealing with them. I also imagine that if she asks him directly whether he murdered Mandaar, that would not just hurt him, but put him in a state of shock regarding Pallavi and their relationship. The angry young man might come out, but he may also end up in that mode where he doesn't care to justify himself to anyone (which would be my preference). I want him to be don Raghav again because that makes sense. No Devdas please. And yes, bring the Appy Fizz and hours of scheming in the study with Farhad please.
