The entire story line was changed post partition to suit Veer entry and his family problems. So there is no connect to 1951 era except for some old movie songs which anyway -were post 1951 released movies!!
But its still a show so Amrit will emerge as a Devi in the end.

I care only about how Amrit has been ruined for me now. Dont know whether I'd want her for Randheer tbh. Devar-Bhabhi and historical accuracy toh pehle se hi valid nahi tha..baaki sab dekh lenge if they have a decent track coming up..
