wasn't witchcraft and witch hunt was invented term by male dominant society who got terrified of strong independent woman and burned them by saying they were witches like Joan of Arc

And I don't know how much this stands true but many single women keeps cat would've kept cat in past also and society called those independent woman a witch and thus cat came associated to witchcraft.
