Wow! This was just beautiful. You have such a knack for writing vivid descriptions. I was transported there. I could visualize every scene and smell every fragrance. And ShiVi scene, that was unexpected. Like Raavi, I almost expected him to fight back. Cigarette and ShiVi? That was unexpected. But glad they could bond over a whiff and have a somewhat normal conversation that usually they wouldn't.
Loved the memories into their past and Shiva always keeping tabs on her. Was she aware of it before or was that a revelation she had now. Clearly, she must have meant something to him to not only keep tabs on, but also to fight for her.

And @your question, I have very keen sense of smell and mostly it's associated with bad memories. It's mostly a curse to have it. Apart from food, the two fragrances that are etched in my brain are related to childhood. One is a weird distinct smell of school hallways and another is earthy smell after rain. While former gives me anxiety, the latter reminds me of carefree childhood days!
