I just realized, Mayank was his usual self with Kirti, prior to leaving for his shoot which was just few days before she was at Nishit's house. Which means they were married at that time. They joked about his new role and he was concerned about Kirti. But something changed between then and the time she moved in with the Ojhas. I think Kirti must have shared her plans about giving their marriage a chance, and that must have tripped Mayank. Someone who loves his freedom, Mayank must be feeling claustrophobic with the domesticity surrounding Kirti. So perhaps I was judging Mayank too harshly.

My heart skipped a few beats at the unexpected mall meeting. Oh Nishit- how does he notice the small little things and tries to soothe the pain away while Mayank downright shows no care, after being friends for so long.

Kirti really is naive to think she can move out and move on without any consequences. I think the ojhas will try to create issues.

Also, dear GN, the heartbreaks and disappointments are worth it if the end is well. Totally down for this ride to read through your creative mind. So far it’s been a treat- not always sweet and what we like, but it has been good. Thank you for this wonderful story

Hmm. Or how about then Kirti was still in her own home. Everything same as before..except sheet of paper signed. No behavior change.

Now she is living with his parents...reality hits him and her. A mistake..hope they dont drag this😘

Exactly! By moving in to his parents house, Kirti has made the marriage more than "just on paper". He now realizes the ridiculousness of her idea to go separate ways, when she is embedding herself more & more into his life. "How do you intend to make it tolerable and more agreeable?" - I can now understand the frustration behind this question. I am back to being sympathetic towards Mayank 😆

Karuna-Urmila-Keshav's was a saas-bahu-beta situation, which is a true story in many households. All three of them can be held accountable for things that went downhill. Some, more than others, but if only one of them had shown better judgement & understanding, things might have been different for them and the generation that followed.

This chapter explains why Urmi didn't want her daughter to marry the Ojha kid. The wailing kid to be precise 🤣 Well, the kid himself wasn't the only issue. It was the family on a whole. The senior Ojha is a despicable man! Earlier he only used to irritate me, now I downright hate him. His wife too, the Ojha-in. Ugghh! She didn't just let her husband pass these horrible jokes, but also participated in them! Maybe she wanted to stop him, but was too helpless to stand against him. This incident gives a different perspective to why she reprimanded Kirti to go in front of him in a t-shirt. Makes me sick to the stomach. I wonder if there is more to Sudha's story as well. From what we know so far about Urmi, it gives the impression that she doesn't care about her kids. But she obviously does care. Then why is she feigning the indifference? She had pegged the Ojha woman right. She is a wolf indeed. Karuna perhaps had her reasons to not be concerned over Urmi's burnt hand. But what reason did Mrs. Ojha have to not care for Kirti? The elder Ojha son too was showing his true colors from his childhood. He was nothing but a nuisance, hooligan and a thief.

There are some striking similarities between Kirti & Urmi, and in some cases they are world apart. I remember there was an incident from Kirti's past where she (momentarily) thought doing menial jobs were beneath her. It was more due to the peer influence and she soon got over that phase. But the revelations of Urmi's nature from today's update reminded me of that incident. Kirti has inherited her mother's looks and her mannerisms, and maybe some of her vices too. But she has definitely not inherited her vanity. She is oblivious of her looks and the effect it has on the opposite sex, unlike her mother. She also has a kind & vulnerable heart which probably was her father's giving.

Karuna-Keshav-Urmi was more like a typical saas-bahu drama type story. A little bit of balance by all could have solved majority of their issues. But Urmila's desire for riches was also very strong.

So Urmi was very beautiful and looks like much of her beauty has been passed on to Kirti.

Now if I think back, Kirti's lot of actions and words is very much like her mother. But Kirti is not a person who would abandon or do bad to her family and loved ones chasing behind money.

Ojha family is a horrible family. Ojha senior is just ewww, sick sick man. And his wife behaves despicably to hide her helplessness I guess.

So Ravi showed his crooked ways right from childhood and Mayank was just that always crying kid.

Now my worry for Radha is even more.

Wonder if Sudha eloping had more stronger reasons than we know.

Now I am even more shocked about how Karuna agreed to the alliance between Kirti and Mayank. Does Karuna not know these people well? She does right. Why would she want her grand daughter married into such a horrible family?

And Urmi could have stopped this marriage. But I guess she does not care.
