It is not infatuation. He is a confused soul who loves and wants Sai, to spend the rest of the life with only her but doesn't know how to act many times. He is an emotional person and also a person who holds himself responsible for the happiness of the people he is related to. He thinks it is his duty to keep people around him happy, he would like to address issues when it flags up atleast. All he needs is a push or that it should come out in front of him and if someone else helps that person, he will let it be, won't get involved but if he finds that person too upset and especially no one to help them, he will jump to help them.
He acts in extremes with Sai because the emotions for her ia making him take too much liberty on her, keep very high expectations from her, making him take her for granted. His behavior with her is also probably because it all started as him taking her responsibility, he considered that he is responsible for her safety, for all her actions and so used to ensure that she doesn't go wrong or doesn't create any issues. In the process of ensuring this, he has crossed lines, he has acted mad, lost control over himself. Unintentionally unknowingly, the age factor between them, her young age, her dependency on him made him take charge of situations or made him show his authority or upper hand. I must say that it does not come out with a malign intention to hurt her or to put her in place, it comes out because he has control over his emotions, loses himself and becomes easy for him to act that way since he can act unlike the case of his family like Kaku or his Dad or Omi. He is subconsciously aware of the effect of his anger on Sai, aware that even she gets scared, aware that he can overpower her or show his authority on her due to her status and age (when I mean status, I mean she is his wife, not Kaku).
My first sentence about how to act, he is like an object in an experiment. The object behaves differently based on the parameters, Virat is also subjected to various different parameters after he married Sai. He is in the process of learning how to behave/act under varied conditions and is failing many times in this process.
One such parameter is his ex with whom he is still learning as how to deal with. He is just acting as per his emotions without giving much of a thought as what would be the consequences of his actions. He is a person who would not forget or ignore other's misery because he is happy.
Let's look at the difference. Her cries in the hospital or in his room didn't bother him much because he knew that she was wrong, because she was expecting unreasonable things from him. Even when she cried when he had gone to request her to participate in the skit, he didn't care when she cried because she had brought the past and he didn't like her doing it wspecially when he has clearly told her.
But I think in today's episode, he probably felt that she was crying because he doesn't care about her contribution and only cared about Sai's contribution. He probably thought that she shouldn't get upset thinking he would praise only his wife. Hence he felt a need, felt an urgency to thank her. I gave it a thought and I think he wanted to thank her right away, right after she helped him, was only right on his part to give her the credit she deserved. As much as he was thankful to Sai to have helped him uniting his sister with her daughter, he felt thankful that Pakhi went out of her way, kept her ego aside, kept her bitterness for Sai aside and acted in the skit with Sai.
True!! Even though I disliked the whole sequence of him holding pakhi's hand right at the moment when sai is in his arms yet I would love to Believe in your explanation here. Imagine Mohit, Sunny or Karishma at pakhi's place. If any of them had participated in the show then we all would have loved the idea of Virat acknowledging their efforts. It just his timing was not quite right . No one can digest kkhh recreation on pakhi and sairat ( Our makers are next level delusional) 🤣
None of these means that I am happy with the scene 🤣. I am talking about Virat the character, what he did was not needed though. It will only boost Pakhi's hopes and he is under estimating the situation.
Yeah pakhi is already living in her past so a little concern from virat's side can give her a wrong idea . Virat could thank her later too .
He loves Sai but his love lacks a lot of elements, may be due to his nature. She should go away for sometime after the precap for him to think as how to behave in the future. He cannot continue to extend support or act empathetic towards Pakhi. He should learn to involve the woman from his family or Pakhi's family to do that job.
