Part- 5

Dev was startled by the unexpected demand made by Janardhan. He was even more upset by Rishita’s behaviour. He always believed that Rishita liked his family too and wanted to be a member of Pandya Parivaar. But her attempt to convince Dev to accept Janardhan’s demand pushed Dev into deep thoughts.

“Dev! Papa puch rahe h na. Jawab do Dev”

Rishita’s voice brought him back.

Rishita! Mein tum se kuch akele me bad karna chata hu

Rishita was embarrassed by Dev’s request and looked at Janardhan’s grim face.

Dev! Yahan papa ke samne hi bolo na. Kya bad h

Rishita! Mere liye mera parivaar sab se important h. Me inko chod ke kahi jane ke bareme sapne me bhi soch nai saktha. Isiliye….

Janardhan interrupted Dev, “Meri beti bi kahi sadak se tho nai aayi h. isko bi maa, paap,behen, bua sab hai. Aapne logo ko chod ke who kyu aayegi wo jhopadi me”

Janardhan further said something very bad about Pandya Parivaar which provoked Dev to grab Janardhan’s shirt collar. Rishita was shocked and snatched Dev’s hands from Janardhan’s shirt and pushed him away. She demanded Dev to apologise to her father. But Dev demanded that Janardhan apologizes first for degrading his family.

“Maafi nai mogoge na Dev! Phir tum ye bul jao ki hum dono ke beech me pyar naam ki kuch cheez thi”

Without waiting for Dev’s reply Rishita ran to her room. Janardhan looked at Dev with a smirk and Dev left the place silently.

When Dev reached Pandya Niwas, Gaumbi, Dhara, Krish were waiting for him in the living room

“Kaha chala gaya Dev! Dhukaan me bhi nai tha, Phone bi nai uta raha tha” Gaumbi asked tensely.

“Tu itna pareshan kyu lag rah h, kya hua Dev?”, Dhara asked with concern.

Dev looked at the worried faces of everyone and tried to act normal.

“Me bas teek hu Bhabhi. Ek dost se milne gaya tha. Phone silent mode me tha, patha nai chala”

“ek call kar ke inform kar saktha thana” Gaumbi patted his back affectionately

"Sorry Gaumbi"

"Chal aake bait. Tujse ek zaroori bad karni h", Gaumbi said in soft tone.

"Arey Gaumbi, abi to aaya h , kuch khane peene do Dev ko. Isko shakal dekar to lag rah h ki parson se bhuki mar raha h. Tu aaja Dev. Khana laga deti hu", Dhara held Dev’s hand and was about to take him to the Dining Table

"Bhabhi! Kya lagane jarahi ho? Thali barke Garam garam hawa aur katori barke tandi tandi pani?" Krish asked wittingly.

Just then Dhara remembered that she didn’t even cook the dinner yet as she was too excitedly planning for Dev and Raavi’s wedding arrangements.

"me tho dinner ke bare me bul hi gayi", she said rubbing her forehead.

"Dev tu bait ja, me pehle Chai leke aati hu", She turned to leave for the kitchen

Dhara! Agar tumhari ijajat ho to Chai banne tak me mere bhai se bad kar saku?

Dhara smiled at Gaumbi and went inside. Dev sat beside Gaumbi on the Couch. Gaumbi started the conversation.

Dev! Wo kya hai na….Tumhara aur….,

"Rahne do Gaumbi! Aap bolte bolte Dev budda hojayga. Me hi bol deta hu", Krish offered to help Gaumbi

"Tu chup bait", Gaumbi silenced Krish

Dev remembered Shiva’s words about Dev and Raavi’s wedding and looked at Gaumbi.

Gaumbi continued, Wo kuch nai, tumhari aur Raa…

"Tumhari aur Raavi ki Shaadi ke deal seal kardiya h Pandya Parivaar ki bade logo ne. itnisi bad h jo Gaumbi ne aadha gante se bol ne ke liye koshish kar rahe, Krish said with sense of achievement.

Gaumbi gave Krish an angry stare. Dev kept looking at Gaumbi calmly. Gaumbi turned to Dev and told him how the wedding was decided suddenly. Dhara came back from the Kitchen and handed over the Chai to Dev.

Tu kush hai na Dev? She asked Dev fondly.

The things that happened in Rishita’s home flashed in Dev’s mind. He took a deep breath and told

"Gaumbi !Bhabhi! aaj tak aap dono ne is parivaar ke kushi ke alava kuch socha hi nai. Mujhe yakeen hai ki ye Shaadi ki faisla bhi aap dono soch samaj ke hi liye honge. Mujse puchne ke kya zarurat hai.,"

"Agar bhai h to yesa ho….wah…wah…kya bad h Dev", Shiva approached them clapping his hands sarcastically.

Shiva! tu kab aaya? Dhara asked

"Tabhi aagaya tha ki jab ye Romeo ne apni shaadi ki kushiyan mann hi mann manake, Gaumbhi ko kuch yesa bol ne keliye koshish kar raha tha ki ye shaadi kuch majboori me kar raha h"

Dev is hurt. Shiva continued his sarcasm

"Seedha seedha bol do mere bhai ki tum ye shaadi ko lekar kitna kush ho….khud ko math roko….laddu bat lo pure Somnath ko….aakir tera shaadi kiske sath hora h. wohi lakdi se horah h jo khud ko Somnath ke sab se sundar ladki bolke ghumti phirthi…. laddu tho baatna hi pagega"

Gaumbi,Dhara and Krish thought Shiva was just pulling Dev’s leg.

"Bas bi karo Shiva! Aur kitna taang keeche ga Bechara Dev ka", Dhara interrupted.

Shiva was not in a mood to stop his taunt. "Keech ne do Bhabhi. Dev ki Shaadi wo mamikibehenkibeti ki sath hone ke bad, ye sab nai kar paunga….kon jaanta hai…"

"Bas bas, tu zyada senti math ho, Dev kuch Kashi yatra ke liye ravana nai hora h…bas shaadi karne jarrah h", Krish frowned "waise bhi ye senti role tujhe bilkul suit nai kartha h….. ajaho apni character pe"

Shiva gave an angry look to Krish.

"Isko chod. Tu bata Dev! Shaadi ke baad agar tum se mein kuch barf tameez karunga to tumhari patni ko bura to lage ga na"

Dev could understand Shiva’s sarcasam but he didn’t know the reason behind that.

"Shiva! Chai break tho do meri Dev ko", Dhara again tried to stop Shiva.

"Maaf kar do Bhabhi, aap ka pade likhe, sharif, matured aur soft natured Devar ko pavitra taang ko maine keech liya h", Shiva apologised mockingly.

Dev sensed something is not right with Shiva. He recalled how Shiva behaved with him in the Shop. He wanted to get the air cleared between him and Shiva

"Ye tujhe kya hogaya h Shiva? Wahan dukaan me bhi yesa hi bad kar raha tha aur ab…."

Gaumbi sensed the tension between his bothers.

"Ho kya ra h?" Gaumbi asked looking at Dev and Shiva with concern.

Shiva looked at the tensed faces of Dev, Gaumbi, Dhara and Krish and realized how he just behaved with Dev and closed his eyes in frustration. He took a deep breath and exhaled as if pushing away all his weird thoughts and behaviorus. Shiva approached Dev, hugged him affectionately and congratulated him whole heartedly.

"Mubarak ho bhai!."
