Part II

After four days

Shaurya sat on the chair opposite to Anokhi's bed, his eyes fixed at her as Anokhi laid down in the hospital bed, her eyes closed. It has been four days since they have been admitted to the hospital. Shaurya has gained conscious towards the night but although Anokhi's operation was successful, she hasn't gained conscious in four days, worrying everyone, especially Shaurya.

Shaurya didn't leave Anokhi's bed side most of the time so they have shifted Shaurya and Anokhi in the same room. The women took turn with Babli in taking care of them.

Ahir and his team has arrested Vineet along with the goons. Vineet was not only arrested for kidnapping Shaurya but also abusing his wife and is behind the bars now. He won't be seeing daylight for a long time now.

Shaurya has clearly told his family that he loves only Anokhi and told Shagun that he could never imagine loving anyone else other than Anokhi. Shagun still loved Shaurya but respected his decision this time and decided to stay with the Sabharwals until Anokhi gains consciousness. Shaurya was glad that his family accepted Anokhi.

It was around nine in the night when Shaurya noticed movements in Anokhi. He called for nurses and doctor right away to check Anokhi. He was asked to wait outside for half an hour along with Babli and Astha before the doctor came out and informed them that Anokhi's completely out of danger and is conscious now.

Shaurya hugged the doctor out of joy and rushed inside to look at his Anokhi. As only one was allowed to see Anokhi, Babli and Astha stayed back.

Shaurya saw Anokhi lying on the bed and on looking at him, tried to give a smile at Shaurya. He walked towards the hospital bed and sat on the chair near the bed without breaking their eye contact. Despite everything, no one could take away the smile on Anokhi's face knowing that her PS is safe.

"Hey you" Shaurya said caressing Anokhi's hair lovingly as tears slipped out of his eyes while a soft smile danced on his lips.

"How are you?"

"Aap kaise ho?"

They both asked at the same time before a small smile broke out on their lips.

"Are you feeling better now Anokhi?"

"Mein teek hoon. Aap kaise ho? Aap ko lagi nahi na"

Anokhi spoke with little difficulty so he asked her to laid down and rest. He promised to be back soon before walking out of the room.

"Ab Nikki kaisi hai?" Babli was the first one to ask followed by Astha.

Shaurya has got used to Astha these days so her presence doesn't rile him anymore. Rather he started to see her in different perspective like his Anokhi said. He didn't want to ponder over the past days and accepted her as his mother although he's emotionally distant with her now and then. Twenty-Five years is still a long time and nothing changes over night right.

"She's good. Ab bhi weak hai but if she rests then she'll be fine in no time"

The next two days went with the Sabharwals coming to meet Anokhi. Babli didn't informed their parents so Rama and Ramesh have no clue about Anokhi. Shaurya refused to leave from Anokhi's side and stayed by her side and helped her get well. Ahir visited once or twice and soon left to Chandigarh as he had to return back to duty.

It was evening when Shagun came to visit Anokhi. She had visited Anokhi once before but Anokhi was sleeping at that time so she decided to come later.

Babli wanted to talk to Shaurya on seeing his efforts towards Anokhi so she brought him out. That's when Shagun came to visit Anokhi.

"Shagun mam?"

"Ab kaisi ho Anokhi?"

"Teek hoon mam, aap kaise ho?"

"I'm good... Actually, mein tumse sorry bolne ke liye aayi hoon"

"Sorry? Kis baath pe mam?"

"Come on, Anokhi. We both know all this happened because of me" Shagun said in a guilty tone.

"Aese kuch nahi hai mam"

"Par aesa hi hai Anokhi. I know ki Shaurya aur tum ek dusre se pyaar karthey ho par mein sab kuch jaan ne ke baadh bhi waha tum logon ka date pe plan karke aayi aur spoil bhi kardiya! When I knew that Shaurya's going to propose you, Devi aunty and I announced my engagement with him when in real he had no clue about that. I agree ki tumhe humare engagement break hone ke baare mein jaan na chahiyeh tha par I just brainwashed you. Shaurya ne mujhe kabhi blackmail hi nahi kiya. Usne pehle se hi mujhe sab kuch clear karke hi shadhi ke liye tayar hua tha. I was the one who agreed and went back on my words despite knowing Shaurya's past with his mother. His mother left him when he was 4 Anokhi. He grew up hearing that his mother left him for her career. He was raised in such a patriarchal household by patriarchal mindset people. That choti soch against career-oriented women is solely because of his misinterpretation of his mother. He has a golden heart, Anokhi. That's why when Devi aunty called me back, I decided to leave everything for him and come back. Par mein galat thi. Shaurya mujhse pyaar nahi kartha. Jo uske nainon mein tumhare liye pyaar haina yeh pyaar mein ne kabhi nahi dekha mere liye... I thought ki you don't deserve him but I do. Mein ne kaha tha hi mein apne padai, career sab kuch chod sakthi hoon uske liye and asked if you could afford to do the same. Par tum ne toh uske liye apne jaan tak dene chali"

Shagun wiped her tears as Anokhi was dumbfounded.

"I'm leaving to UK on tomorrow morning's flight Anokhi. Take care of yourself"

Shagun couldn't meet Anokhi's eyes. So, she didn't wait for Anokhi's reply and left from there after giving her a small smile.

Shaurya, on the other hand, sipped his coffee as he sat opposite to Babli in the kitchen canteen. No one said a word until Babli broke that silence.

"Mein ne jo kuch bhi aap ke baaremein socha, aap se kaha, uske liye sorry" Babli said looking at Shaurya "Mujhe aap ko baakhi mardhon se compare karke Anokhi ke mann mein dar create nahi karna chahiye tha"

"Hareey aap aese kaise bath kar rahi hai Babli di. You did what any big sister would do and you were right too. Aap ko maafi maang ne ki koyi zaroorat nahi hai"

"Zaroorat hai, Shaurya ji. Somewhere deep down I judged you based on my life experience jo mujhe nahi karna chahiyeh tha. Everytime Anokhi gets pulled towards you, it was I who stopped her. I told myself that I wanted to protect her but somewhere within I knew that I was just pushing her towards Ahir ji because I thought he comes without any family complications and he deserves Anokhi more than you. Mujhe laga ki voh sahi honge Anokhi ke liye. Aap ke parivaar wale, aap ke bartaaf library mein aur Astha mam ke sath, yeh toh suna mein ne par mein yeh bul gayi thi ki yeh aap hi hai jo mujhe aur Nlkki ko Vineet se bachaya, ki yeh aap hi hai jo Nikki ho us ragging case se bacchayeh the, ki yeh aap hi hai jo usse rusticate hone se bacchayeh, us se apni padhai pure karne ke liye Chandigarh wapas le aaye. In che dinon mein aap ne ek pal ke liye bhi Nikki se dhur nahi gaye. Us ko ithne acche se sambala... Mein ne kaha ki aap mere behan ki layak nahi ho par ab aaj mein aap se keh rahi hoon ke aap meri behan ke layak ho. You deserve each other"

Shaurya was overwhelmed. He held Babli's hand in his, reassuring her that he'll do his best to remain the same.

When they walked back inside the hospital, Babli got busy with a call while Shaurya walked inside the room. He realized Anokhi was lost in thoughts. So, he sat on the chair and flashed his hand in front of her face, breaking her trance.

"Kahan koi hui ho Anokhi?"

"Shagun mam mujhe milne aayi thi" Anokhi said looking at Shaurya.

"Accha? She's leaving to UK tomorrow, you know" Shaurya said studying Anokhi's eyes.

"I know. She told me about that and she told me about lot of things too" Anokhi said slowly. Shaurya heaved a sigh and gently took Anokhi's hand in his.

"Anokhi, Shagun told me about what happened the other day" Shaurya said taking a deep breath "Jo kuch bhi Shagun ne us din tum se kaha, voh sach tha. Mein us type ka Insaan tha. What I did with Shagun was wrong, Anokhi and I’m ashamed for what I did. I didn’t even realize it until the day you made me see otherwise. Yes, you changed my view, Anokhi. Ever since I have met you, you were always someone who wouldn’t back down when I’m wrong and has always acted as a mirror to show where I went wrong. I wasn’t the perfect Shaurya Sabherwal everyone celebrates in your presence. I was raw and uncaged before you. I didn’t have to pretend to be perfect in front of you. You told me things straight at my face that none told me before. You were that part of my conscious which has always made me to see things differently. You challenged my thought and proved me wrong. You ran away from a forced marriage just to study and achieve great things in life. You didn’t take anybody’s favours. Rather you worked to stand on your own. You didn’t back down from any of the struggles you faced. You showed a fighting spirit. You crawled into my head and challenged my thought against career-oriented woman and proved that woman can take care of both their career and family. You proved me that career-oriented women are not selfish but that they are fighting a struggle of their own. I have never wanted you to give up your studies or career, Anokhi and I never will. In fact, I have always wanted you to shine in your studies. Like I told you the other day, you inspire me Anokhi and you inspire every other girl out there who wants to follow her dream. Never ever think that I'll ask you to make any sacrifice for me. I am ashamed of the person I was but as a human, I can only accept when I’m wrong and try to become a better person. I’m glad that I have changed, Anokhi. Believe me when I say I have"

No one said anything for a moment before Anokhi flung her arms around Shaurya's neck, pulling him closer in a hug as she cried against him softly. Shaurya wrapped his arms around her and caressed her hair comfortingly.

How wrong she was that she thought he will never change! Her love had already done the work. If only she has listened to him earlier then ithna siyappa nahi hotha.

"I love you PS" Anokhi finally confessed to Shaurya as tears pooled her eyes. She caressed his cheeks with her hands before placing a kiss on his cheek "I love you so so much. I promise to love you now and forever"

Shaurya closed his eyes, feeling content. He has heard her say what he wanted to hear for a long time. A bubbling joy erupted inside him as a feeling of peace washed over him. He hasn't felt like this in years! He broke the hug and cupped Anokhi's face in his.

"I love you Anokhi" Shaurya said placing a soft kiss against her temple before placing his forehead against hers as they both closed their eyes, tears slipping out of their orbs "I promise to love you and stand by you now and forever"

Their kiss held the promise they made to each other and they intend to keep that promise until the rest of their lives.

I also agree on the same terms, Shagun should be the one to correct what went wrong. She should.be realising her mistake, her stupidity & baseless & pointless arguments with Anokhi 🤪 Such a weird lady um... Nope, Villain!

It would've ended this way had it been a series or something but drama ahead on the show 😅 This was a perfect piece of writing & Babli clearing out every issue she had with Shaurya, Anokhi & Shaurya 'communicating' properly is what we need in the show too but sigh, who knows when will that happen 🤡

All in all, your story had logic, important points & a very meaningful ending. Great job 💜
