I see where you are coming from but I feel like it's unfair that she is assuming the worst of him and even in that he has to go after her to clarify. She didn't bother listening to his side of the story (yes if he had told her this is still what I believe and then she left him that is totally a different story). Here she made a decision to end things without even telling him, without even giving him a reason, without even thinking it necessary to meet him. And I totally agree, it has to be through actions. But if we go by his actions, what has he done to Anokhi that she ought to believe Shagun's words? He was excited that she topped, he is the one that helped her during rustication, he is the one that brought her back to college and kept harping on about her career. If Anokhi goes only by his actions, then he hasn't actually done anything to her and that ought to be evidence that he changed as opposed to the words that Shagun (who has something to gain by separating them) and Aastha (who didn't even know about the reason for his engagement breaking until very recently) have told her.
I don't think she MUs Shagun/Shaurya's relationship. She knows that he doesn't love Shagun and that Shagun is just going after him one-sidedly hence the taunt about "girls from your class" to Devi. She knows that Shaurya is hers, but she is the one choosing not to be with him. And I get it, she has a lot to lose if she were to pursue this and it didn't work out. It is easier for her to cut her loses now. I guess I'm just sad for Shaurya who has to always wish for love from people who are quick to give up on him. I guess what I want to see is Anokhi realizing that while there is a risk, he is worth fighting for. And maybe this is because I know Shaurya and have seen how much he has actually changed as a result of her. He listens to her, internalizes what she says, and never repeats the same mistake again. I just want her to realize that too and decide that he is worth the risk, that he is worth fighting for.
