I think in the beginning he was genuinely confused about why Sai said " ab yeh itne bhi handsome nahi hai" but from the point she walked up to sit by him, smiling with a twinkle in her eyes, and continue the conversation with him he knew it was just timepass, a distraction- a way to cheer him up from the heavy duty melodrama pp was doing - fighting with Sai in the middle of the hospital room. Thats why when pp thinks its childish "behas" he just fondly shakes his head telling pp- you are mistaken, she is not irritating me. I know Sai- This is just how they talk- their "sur" is this fun, easy ,no-filter banter- the back and forth- they both want to see who can have the last word and sometimes they call truce. But Its meant in jest only. Sometimes their banter itself can escalate into a fight like aniket drama but for the most part they both know that its harmless. And they enjoy it. The nok jhok- its their style of togetherness. Light hearted. Not heavy duty emotional stuff. In their nok jhok they sometimes say very profound/"Aww" ...worthy things too....
