I think he felt bad for both of them because he knows neither of them wanted this. He was crying too but was willing himself to stay strong and go through it till the end. Jung jeetna tha usko. He's not stupid, he knows she's hurting but he doesn't care at this point. His own pain and goal are much more important to him. Later on when he has flashbacks of these moments, he's going to cry all over again for the pain he caused her. The scenes today were made for flashbacks, almost.
