I will continue to shout it out from the rooftops, my love for Shaurya runs DEEP.

First time in ITV, I got to witness a character who is so beautifully written and carried out. I love Anokhi, she is this strong, fierce girl, but I love Shaurya a whole lot more.

Shaurya is a modern day misogynist, but did we ever think why he thinks the way he thinks. It comes from his childhood. Everyone experiences different things, and he experienced abandonment from both parents, was brought up by his aunt, and was brought up with hatred towards a lot of things. I am not saying any of this is right. But it all makes sense on why he is the way he is. There are things he needs to own up to. His “soch” is one of them.

You have to view him with a new lens. You have see that he has changed. He is not the same Shaurya Sabherwal that we saw in Episode 1. He is different. He has changed. The only way to see that, is to not compare him to what we usually see. You have to view him from a new lens, because he surprises us each time.

Shaurya Sabherwal is not the every day male lead we see in ITV. He is different. He is a breath of fresh air. He shows us an example of people can change when the people in your life change. Anokhi changed him without either of them knowing. She has affected him in ways that no one will ever understand. He is worth every bit of love. He never fully received love whether it was from a family member or from anyone else. Anokhi has brought that feeling out in him. Love changes a lot of things.

I am not asking anyone to love him, nor am I asking anyone to hate him. I am simply asking to have an open mind when it comes to him. Understand his pain, his love, his soch. Because with time a lot changes. People are always being filtered in and out of your life and they change the way you think about life. So view Shaurya as someone who is still learning and will continue to learn.

He has made mistakes, and realized a lot of them. But we can't judge him based on his past. We live in the present and live for the future. Keep some faith that there will be more mistakes to come. But that is life and we learn from them, and I do believe he will learn from them.

Shara Bear has my heart, and watching him EVOLVE is beautiful.

Heres my take on this mans!

kinda wanna do one on Anokhi soon.

I still love her, but my heart is always stuck on him 💙

So apt! Shaurya is not the same person he was when we first saw him. We have seen so many shades of him. His experiences and his upbringing has shaped his thought process and his expectations. But, when have we not learned from our current experiences and changed a perspective we’ve held as a result? Are we the same person we were 6 months ago? Nope. We evolve and in the words of anokhi “a person can learn a lot from their experiences, if they wish to learn.” And this he did. He family always gave in to his demands no matter wrong. They fake trying to make him happy. No one has ever tried to show him the “right” or a different point of view than the one he has - except anokhi. His father has tried to but burdened under his pain, his love has never reached through him. Shaurya is the type of person where if you give him a piece of your heart unconditionally, he will give you his entire heart. His metamorphosis is not the usual - change into a diff person bc he fell in love. His metamorphosis started the moment Anokhi entered his life - ever changing him as their journey deepens. It’s going to continue during span of the kahani. Their kahani. One that I’m SO happy watching.

This is such a perfect way of describing him. Truly a gem in today's story telling world. One can easily relate to his character to a level or another. Shaurya has my heart like no other ITV lead. And will always do. ❤

What a beautiful post to wake up to Juwi!

First thing I have read this morning so thank you for the good start!

"You have to view him from a new lens, because he surprises us each time.

Shaurya Sabherwal is not the every day male lead we see in ITV. He is different. He is a breath of fresh air"

These lines above that you have written in your post, this is everything!

I have said this before and I will keep saying it again and again Shaurya is not yet another run of the mill angry young man! He doesn't not conform to a checklist of how such MLs are usually written. He is layered in the most realistic sense and someone who is in touch with his human side and not just raging for the heck of it to hide behind his past! A few examples:

1. He does not take out his anger on Aastha and Shaan on anybody else, it is always directed only at them. He does not use his childhood abandonment as an excuse to stay bitter at the world or everyone around

2. If he was a run of the mill AYM that ITV is used to then he wouldn't have clarified to the police that Anokhi is SIAC's potential candidate student nor would he have done the decent thing by sending Makhan to get her to a safe place! This! He did this when he disliked her and didn't want her there if it was another typical AYM ML he would have ensured Anokhi is caught in the scandal or spends time behind the bars just to send across a message on who holds the power.

3. When Aastha and Shaan stand together for Anokhi he is jealous and hurt because this is what he had always wanted from his parents but had never received yet here they were doing it for a stranger! He channels his hurt by feeding a hungry mother-son duo and longing for the same because that is a void that nobody has been able to fill. The next day he doesn't nurture his resentment for Anokhi by working on actively making life difficult for her instead he once again decides to the right thing by ensuring that he wouldn't let her impact him!

4. The Riots scene wasn't just him ensuring Anokhi was safe, it was about him helping anybody he can along the way. This was a deliberate nod at what kind of a person he is, there was attention to detail in how exactly he was going to be portrayed here because I so many of us made posts here about this particular scene.

5. His expression when he realises that Anokhi had never called the press! He was genuinely guilty that he had misunderstood which yet again proved the fact that despite his initial prejudice and reservations he wasn't actively looking for a reason to hate/dislike her

6. Pursuing and rescuing a stranger, he went after the goons without knowing that it was Anokhi!

7.If Shaurya Sabarwal was a run of the mill AYM he would have been the one because of which Anokhi would have been stuck in the room during the ragging track ans he would have rescued her after a sudden "realisation" but that wasn't the case! If anything he teared up Anokhi hugged him in her trauma that just shows the extent of his empathetic side!

8. The fact that Shaurya has never been the cause of Anokhi's miseries, he has never set out to make her miserable except for making the admission process difficult and even there he tried to find ways within the system ans never did anything unethical. In fact when Anokhi says "I quit" there is no look of revelling in her misery or smirking at his victory, because her humiliation is not what he was looking for! He hadn't wanted that at all and the way he looks taken aback says it all!

9. The one time he actually made her miserable and broke her spirit was in the library scene, but his realisation was so organic and it didn't happen overnight and when the apology came it was a heartfelt one! These are the things that are never addressed properly or brushed off in other shows the way SAAKK dealt with it is why it continues to stand out for me as a gem of a show on ITV!

10. He doesn't get angry without reason, it could be a misplaced reason but there always is one! The aggression isn't romanticised in fact we have had moments where Shaurya actually has made effort to contain it and I think it'll get better by the time the show concludes!

Finally and most importantly! There's nobody like our Shara bear ❤️

I repeat and will never get tired of doing so because his virtues do over power his vices, I am here to acknowledge the layers and watch his growth because that is what the story, premise of the shows and not put myself in a position of superiority and view him with a cynical lens and pass judgments on him even before his journey can culminate.

P. S a lot of things that Shaurya has done from the above list are prettty basic human and decent thing to do so yes I am not placing him on a pedestal for that but acknowledging the fact he is an ML who has been portrayed as being in touch with his emotional side and his past not being used as an excuse to show him as a mean, brooding hero who can get away with anything! He, for all his flaws at the end of the day is a man of principle! He may falter but not fall when it comes to dfferentiating between right and wrong!

LOVE ALL OF THIS!!!

I don't like to take sides when it comes to my OTPs.....but I do love broken men.

The subtlety with which KV portrays Shaurya's insecurities is what made me fall for Shaurya!

I don't think anything in his past justifies his misogyny either but it allows room for forgiveness. It explains his reactions to others words or behavior. It's so true that the Shaurya now should be judged by the Shaurya of the past, to truly appreciate his growth. If he was a infallible male lead, he would be soooo boring!

You're sooo right, he has changed, slowly but surely, by falling in love with Anokhi. It's interesting that Aastha said "You can change him" without knowing that it's already happened. The man in that library and the one who is heartbroken in his room now are not the same. And because no one has been privy to their private moments, there is just no one who can speak up for him.

"So view Shaurya as someone who is still learning and will continue to learn." This is really an important statement regarding Shaurya. He's not a baked pie. It's not a done deal yet. He's an ever evolving human who will make mistakes, but with his heart in the right place, for the right people, will make amends.

"Kinda wanna do one on Anokhi soon." Do it!!!! I want one on Anokhi too!!

Great job Juwi!!❤️

Absolutely! Isn’t his layered character the reason we all fell in love with the show!?! Plus of course KV’s brilliant acting 😍 Shaurya’s character graph is that of a spiked chart full of ups and downs! Over the course of the show whenever he is only with Anokhi his behavior and mood shows a lot of improvement. With the ACP around, he feels threatened and vulnerable, fearful that he might lose her. And that usually brings out his ugly side. But as he gained confidence of her love, he’s mellowed down quite a bit! 😁

To see him completely drowned in love is so good and different, no?! .When he saved her, chased and apologized to her, sneaked into her hostel room, the whole of Holi sequence was him just utterly losing any sense of control he had over his heart and mind!

Now with Anokhi knowing his reasons for leaving Shagun, it’ll be great to witness the his layers slowly peeling off to expose the real him. I am so looking forward to a heart to heart talk between Shaurya and Anokhi! ❤️
