Its Maharashtrian ritual for both would be Bride or Groom before their marriage

close relatives like Chacha Mama Bua or Massi invite them at home arrange lunch or dinner ...give them gifts Nowdays close family friends or friends too invite.

basically its lunch or dinner for would be Bride or Groom

Kelwan is ceremony that is held for bride and groom few days before the wedding. Close relatives arrange Pooja and lunch/dinner for the couple (mostly with their favorite dishes) and gifts.

That's a very nice custom though. So the bride and groom don't receive any gifts on their wedding day? Or it's just the close relatives who give them gifts on Kelvan and the rest on the day of the wedding?
