I don't know if you remember but there was this famous serial Qubool Hai. In that the male lead had even slapped the female lead apart from all the horrible things he used to say to her and mistreat her.

There was so much hungama on the forum that people were like this is a non redeeming act by the male lead. And yet it was such a huge hit.

Honestly, this was the best part of the episode. It's high time people are shown being practical instead of emotional in such situations. I am glad Pallavi won't feel indebted to him for using the money because she feels this they have every right to use the money of guy who put her father in this condition.
