I liked your analysis on Mahi. Farhad's character sketch is very much clear to everyone here, but I think somehow the way the director portrayed Mahi lacked the zest which the story wanted to show her as, for example, some of us can see that her denial is guilt now, and then it'll be love but some of us also thinks that she is completely disinterested in Feedi, so here the director definitely failed, a huge chunk of the audience does not even understand what Mahi, they should have given her more monologues. It is quite clear now that she has softened towards Feedi and next episode even her bhabi catches the restlessness in her tone, but this should have been more consistent the way Feedi's character has been consistent with his stance of not 'unloving' Mahi. Well, I am just glad that Mahi's side of turmoil will show up.
Oh absolutely, I agree with you on their lackadaisical effort of fleshing her character out or rushing through the initial episodes by editing things out. Up until now her character need not necessarily be given the depth that Farhad has needed, but it still lacked the finesse of her confusion. Her confusion didnt come across as confusion rather someone who is hopping-skipping like a grasshopper .. Sorry for the lack of better analogy ..
Also, as you have said, Farhaad is the first stranger she has been friends with, been with him for few days, confided in him, seen his honesty, so the way Mahi behaved it seemed like she had many 'male' friends and Farhaad was just another one she can use, here again the writer failed to show Mahi's stance. Just how we know that Farhaad was completely smitten because he believed in a fairy tale princess and she was the one, but we do not see Mahi having any ideology set, in reality a woman never forgets her first male friend, or she never forgets the first man who ever looked at her with something more than friendship and here Mahi was completely relaxed? It did not make sense, and what bothers me more is that she is completely unapologetic about demeaning him by calling his class out, seeing how Mahi is, she would have given it a thought, felt unhappy about being arrogant, but she wasn't. Mahi has always given mixed signals, if Taimoor wouldn't be in the picture, she would be more messed up about Farhaad and would give him a deeper thought. I understand the show is from Feedi's POV, and we will see everything from his eyes but well we need to see the female lead being consistent too, not like jumping from one state to another without any self realization. It is not only annoying but creates a disconnect for the leads too.
@bold: True. They failed to establish that clearly - her ideologies .. or her lack of morals for leading someone on .. Or someone who lacks the depth of not feeling anything for using someone .. Maybe the idea was thrown at us for us to make our own assumptions .. Maybe, it is now that they will go in depth with her feelings .. as we are seeing her transition from guilt to falling for him (not yet in love) .. just speculating here .. I think we should wait for few more episodes before we can start relating to her character ..
