Simple baat hai if Sai would not have done anything for Devi tai and minded her own business then the people who are after her for doing something would be after her for not doing anything.

aap kuch zyada ajeeb nahi hai?

Not going to justify Virat's action but want to point out some glaring anamoly in this argument when you take into Sai's action of going into jungle alone. If you are criticizing virat for turning out sai in the middle of night which may endager her, you should also do so when Sai endagers herself.

A wrong doesn't become right because of gender of the perpetrator.

Any guy with ill intentions can come along, see her out alone on streets and attack her.

While I get that this is a huge problem in India. But 80% is an over exaggeration. People remember to always raise your voice against wrong, but don't paint the wrong image of those who are not. Baaki I agree with you. It was still too big of a risk to take and I too felt that Virat, if not as a husband then as a police officer, if not as a police officer then as a citizen, should have thought about this.

Yes it doesn't. But at that moment we can still say that Sai went there on her own will. In this situation, Virat is basically forcing Sai into such a situation (if, God forbids, something like this happens). It is like jumping into fire, if a person does it on their own, it won't be as wrong as pushing someone into it. Had Patralekha thrown Sai out of the house, and then people said that it was fine since both her and Sai are girls, then your point would be suitable, but here it is not about gender, it is about what a person chose and what you forced them to.

Absolutely. But someone choosing to jump into the pit doesn't make it right. Our action is not limited to us alone but has wider repercussions on our close ones too. If something happened to her, how would have virat reacted?

Similarly Virat in his blind rage is forgetting his duty as a husband, police officer and most of all human being. He is becoming oblivious to what may happen to sai if she goes back to GC. His action has the potential to destroy sai but also him

I would also like to point, that these rape cases are a sum of all types of rape. Date rape, spousal rape, statutory rape, stranger rape to name a few. The reason I am pointing this out is because the fact that sometimes people over exaggerate the numbers of stranger rape actually cause lot of women severe anxiety, to such extents that they kight even stop going out. The main point is that girls should be given exact stats and then should be promoted to learn self defence. The problem still exists but we need to promote as less panic among women as possible, and that means telling the rruth and only the truth. If girls are told that amjority of the times rape is by strangers, then they kight lower their guards when they are with someone whom they know. Their are lots of things we need to think of when we address such a topic. The main thing is to promote awareness and self defence among girls. I know I deviated from the main topic a bit, but I felt that this should be brought to your notice.

I agree. And the answer is in your statement itself. Do whatever you want with yourself but you have no right to harm others. This is valid for both situations. And if we compare them together, we will feel that even though Virat will still feel immense mental pain (for lack of better word), it would still be not as much as Sai will feel if something happens to her, it will be both mental and physical. And this shows that what Sai did wasn't right, but what Virat did was much more wrong. Because he can cause more pain to someone else, and he has no right to do that.
