That'd be major character inconsistency. He was beginning to realise that he was going overboard. He still doesn't like him but he also wouldn't get violent.... That too right after Ahir helped him. I think it's Vineet since both Babli and Vineet were getting screenspace recently. Also, the time for Babli divorce and remarriage to Vicky has arrived too.
