Victor and Eli were both shown as having a darker side. And while I know Victor was supposed to be the villain here (I still loved him), would you say Eli's standpoint aboit EOs was correct?

Also, which one of them did you end up rooting for in the end?

I think the main reason I ended up rooting for Victor was I could find logic behind his madness whereas Eli's extreme ideologies and superiority complex regarding his power just made me dislike him. Are Victor's actions justified? No but he does a good job of convincing the readers to understand him.

Eli was immersed in his mission of executing every EO in this world and Victor was immersed in his mission of hunting down Eli. But, Victor did not lose touch with reality in the process but Eli did (and ended up being unbearable.)

Also, Victor is loyal to the people who are loyal to him. He is willing to protect them but Eli just uses the people who are loyal to him. That difference was highlighted many times in the book.

At first glance, both of them seem similar and it's hard to understand why would many readers prefer Victor over Eli but I think these slight differences endears Victor Vale to me. 🥰

Yes, harry is one philosophical, evil dude. The dialogues are long. I hate chapter 11 (I think). Overall I loved the book. I advise you to read few pages at a time. 250 pages seem average but it is really overwhelming.

@bold: Spoiler!😈 No, really, it already feels like he's going to be the antagonist while reading😆

@italics: I can understand. I'm not even halfway through and I already feel overwhelmed. I also feel like I sort of know where the story is going but I hope there are surprises.

Yeah, reading a few pages at a time seems like good advice. I've already read two novels since I started it.smiley36 The problem is, once I put such books down, it's always with the thought that I'll pick them back up soon but I never feel like it.🤔

You explained everything I felt so well. Also, it seems like Victor's character grows with time but Eli is just stuck at the same place for 10 years. There's almost no growth in his character.

When I read I actually felt like Eli was the antagonist, no matter what the author intended, and Victor was, well, I won't say hero, but lesser of the two evils. I was definitely rooting for him till the end.

No No spoiler... He is like that from the beginning of the book.

You will like it, once you finish it. I promise 😊

I understand. The same thing happened to me. It took some months to finish it. I read many books in between and read whenever I felt like it. Last half of the book was a breeze though.

My favourite HARRY POTTER book is 7th one. The deathly hallows. The finding of clues, the fugitive aspect and the last fighting scene give me absolute chills.

@Diya: 3rd used to be my favourite for a long time but it's my comfort book now. PoA is filled with hope and love with the right amount of mystery.

6th is just perfect in all aspects. ❤️

I agree. The point regarding the growth in both character must be added.

There indeed is a discussion about what exactly is right and wrong or does every human action fall in the middle. At the end, we choose our own hero.
