That reminds me of the Pakistani drama Besharam in which the ML and FL are having a bitter argument on national television. The FL tells him to apologize on live TV so to win the fight, he places the condition that he will only apologize if she marries him. He knows it's a ridiculous thing to say and she will lose by saying no. Instead she agrees since it's an ego tussle. Funnily enough even there the ML, like Raghav has two sidekicks who call him bhai.
