Wtf this is a bad idea! RHTDM storyline is super problematic and I found Maddy's character repulsive even back then in 2001 when I was just 7.

If they stick to the same storyline then you can expect critics and many sections of the audience to rightfully tear it apart.

RHTDM is basically famous because of the songs and BW music has gone downhill so that remake is going to suck.
