I think there are many people rooting for both Papa-son's romantic relationships. I am not one of them but I understand. Speaking as a neutral, Shaan-Aastha have a beautiful relationship. ShaKhi are actually a contemporary reflection of his parents. Shaan and Aastha met in college, fell in love and got married though Aastha had different ideals. Same with Anokhi. I heard in Malayalam version, the montage has ShaKhi and Shaan-Aastha's pics and I like the idea.
Shaan and Shaurya have a very honest relationship considering their past and I love them even more when they are not fighting each other. Shaurya clearly shows how close he is to his dad than other family members (even more than badi ma) when he is angry at him or complaining or fighting. He wouldn't do that to his fake ma (sorry, had to đ)
Digressing a little bit - I love Shaan and Aastha!!! I started watching the serial because after a very long time I was seeing Deepa Parab, who plays Aastha. And then I saw Shaurya and Shaan and their equation!!! And I am in love with all 4 of them, the couples, their story and a wishful future. Shaan-Aasthaâs story has so much love, care and longing that I cant help but feel happy for them whenever they are on screen together, despite their past mistakes with Shaurya.
The parents and son have genuine emotions for each other and Anokhi already loves everyone; it will be soo beautiful to see them all get along as a family. I am sincerely hoping for a happy life for them and want to see them all living together eventually. Going back to your point, I realize how adulty and old I feel when I root for them as a âFamilyâ and not just individual couples.

I honestly thought Shaan sholuld have been Shaurya's older brother or something. When those two would come on screen, the screen would be on fire! I was like damn the son is fire but so is the father. Shaan, though lacks some qualities, really has a good sense of respecting people's boundaries and thoughts.

The malayalam version montage shows them four. It clearly signifies the crux of the show.
In a way, it all started with Shaan-Aastha and the waves are directly influencing Shaurya-Anokhi dynamics.
Anokhi is another version of Aastha, so as with Shaurya and Shaan.
The parallels between the two couples are awesome.
I have always been more interested in the more mature characters even when I was in high school or college. And I shamelessly admit that I am a tad bit more interested in the Shaan-Aastha story than the leads. I know I am going to be disappointed because here they get even less footage than in the original. Also I am very much interested in the Shaan-Aastha-Shaurya family dynamics and hope to see some genuine effort on the parents' part to make it up to their son. I wished they showed the two love stories intertwined instead of going separately. It is high time Shaan and Aastha get a whiff of Shaurya's budding feelings and have a conversation regarding that instead of wallowing in the sorrow of their divorce.
I usually scheme through the show for selected parts.. But I for some reason never skip Shaan and Astha's scenes. I love them as a pair and as a family to Shaurya and their bond and support for Anokhi. I really wished they would have considered making this show about conflicts in 'soch' with love story intwined rather than love story to take a center stage. Shaurya and Astha's relationship interests me more than Shaan-Shaurya as we could clearly see lots of scope there for development. But yes, these four need to move away from crazy Saberwals.
