Also, why does everything have to be realistic to the C ? As long as a show or movie stays true to itself and what it set out to be, it should be fine - just shouldn't flout some BASIC legalities and rules.

There are numerous movies and shows which depict a particular person or a time period without staying accurate, but still deliver the goods.

Pretty sure the scientists involved with India's Mars Mission were not singing Om Mangalam Mission Mangalam and painting and decorating their office. But the movie captures and delivers what it set out to do with a bunch of fluff for entertainment. They are creating works of fiction after all :)

MS Dhoni ends at the world Cup win at the peak of his glory. It did not cover the 8-0 drubbing we faced post that at the hands of England and Australia. We did not win a single away Test in 14 matches from 2011 to 2014. People were asking for his sacking. The idea is to tell a story that the creators think the audience will like

For the absolute Truth, we have books and documentaries

If makers want to make shows on invaders then go ahead, but show the damn facts. Show us how the parda system became prevalent, cored conversations took place, Indian princesses were married off to invader kings in order to prevent anything from happening to the kingdoms.

And by all means, I hope they cover how India's most peaceful minority, the Parsi community and later the Iranis, had to flee from their home country, Greater Iran, and come to India when the invasions started.

Show the truth if they have to. You can call it snowflakes or whatever but for me they will always be barbarians and should be depicted that way. they were by no means great.

Makers can easily make web series of 4-5 episodes similar to "Roman Empire" or "Vikings" on Netflix on the Hindu dynasties that I stated.

if your feeling get hurt over history then you're pretty weak you werent even there... Envaders didnt come to your country because your country didnt exist... there were small kingdoms everywhere, if you were Marathan you had nothing in common with sikhs, afghans or Rajputs... there wasnt a thing called India...

its not glorification its history and invade and concur was part of the history, no body was bitching about it... again there was no India so rajput princess were getting married because they wanted to side with the Mughals, they had a choice and they were smart people so they were siding with the winning side... everyone was barbarians, do you think Marathas or rajputs were kissing people on the cheeks.. go read abit of History..

the funny things is when Marathas were dominant hindus of other kindoms hated them becasue they were double taxing them, and if they didnt pay their tax they were getting massacred.. thats why they didnt side with Marathas in Panipat and sided with Abdali... but i dont see you bitching about them but glorifying them to the death.

yes they do exist.. they live in Denmark, Norway and Sweden its just they dont go around sailing for new land, because its the 21 century... just like Marathas who still live in India but they dont have their own kingdom

Now I understand that is how empires were formed but if we look at it today then you can't deny they did lot of damage to the people and culture they invaded. They didn't gift us their Art, food, architecture and culture, they brought it along with themselves and we as a society adopted to it Just like how we adopted English. It's just like people hate British empire for colonization. I mean you wouldn't like if your neighbor suddenly decides to invade your house and treat you like shit while he eats from your refrigerator.

so do you see the Marathas, Rajputs and other hindu kindoms the same way? becasue all of them were literally doing the same thing.. the only different they had between them was one was hindu who ran the kindom the other was muslim...

Yeah if I feel sad about my ancestors I am weak. Thank u for the enlightenment.

India existed way before any of the barbarians entered the land. The borders were different but the country very much existed. Ancient scriptures mention a "Hind" land, the Sumerians and Akkadians used to trade with the IVC. So the country very much existed, just not in its current way. Go read about Proto-Indio-European/Indo-Iranian documents.

Why don't u go beyond the Sikhs, Rajputs, Marathas etc, way before they existed the way they do now. There are enough details which show from where each clan came into existence, the names evolved and changed from Proto-Indo to what we know it as today.

India was not called India, but it was very much on the map. Had there been any official records from ancient pagan civilisations we would know more.

U think I don't know about the taxing system, how Rajputs also chose wrong? I do and would love to see this shown in the correct way. Not in ways in which some Mongol, Turk conquerer is shown to be some great king India had.

I think I have made myself very clear, I don't want to see anyone glorified, but I want the truth to be shown. There are a bunch of shows/documentaries I have seen on the Ottomans, the siege of Constantinople etc and have always noticed how one side was glorified. And that's not what I want to see. To top it all off pissing off a community in order to glorify some barbaric king...nope not interested.

Indian History has been twisted and shown in the worst ways where we were expected to worship how great some invader was and what structures they built etc...but due to the internet its visible how many were connected structures, originally built for something else. It only gets controversial from here and you know it.

It could be done well if they had people with actual vision working on it. The invasion, the local infighting, the conquest, the politics, the brutality, the rule, the family, the drama, the court shenanigans.

More likely, it will end up being an Ekta Kapoor soap with period fashion. Many begums catfighting, vamps revealing state secrets, and who knows... maybe time travel to 21st C where one of them will clean a laptop with soap and water and hang it out on the clothesline.

I understand but people still saying things like 'my sentiments are hurt' and being angry because of a factual inaccuracy in a movie/show is absurd to say the least. Ask a daily wage worker if he or she would care about this. No, they won't, because they know that there are far more important things in life than getting mad over TV. If there's something wrong shown, then ask for it to changed. But this whole 'hurting sentiments' drama is hilarious.

Anybody still associating their identity to something that happened in history and getting hurt over it has failed to evolve, end of story.

Stop living in the past, start living in the present and get hurt over what is happening now. You can not move forward if do not let go of past and work for better future.

Mughal history is filled with good and bad, when it comes to kingdoms all of them did their fair share of looting whether they were Muslims, Hindus, Christians. They were invaders who then became a part of the society and also adopted some of the local culture.

The only reason Mughals are getting pointed at is because they are Muslim rulers, then all I can do is shake my head.

During the time of empires all were bloody and horrifying, that's how new empires were formed.

Let's not assume things.. If that was the case then movies like Jodha Akbar or plethora of TV shows based on Mughal empire wouldn't have seen light of the day. Also if it was just "Islamophobia" then you think British Empire would be getting the kind of hate it gets. Colonizers were colonizers and while I understand that there is no point in carrying the bitterness, I also understand it irks people when the barbaric side of the empire is not shown.. And yes religion had a very important part to play because people were forcefully converted, killed or raped just because they couldn't accept their God.

Having said that I don't think anyone would have problem with a show being made about Mughals.. In fact wasn't Takth being made by Dharma productions? I wouldn't even mind a show made on East India Company as long as they are not glorified.
