Think this site is worth plenty of money. Industry leader in its segment, no real competitor, has a dedicated, regular userbase and runs Google ads (I have adblocker though!). Even if they sold private advertising on a CPM basis (cost per thousand impressions), they'd make a fair bit of cash.

For example, this page here (https://www.indiaforums.com/pages/advertise), says they do 150 million views a month- 15 crore impressions.

At a conservative $1 cpm ($1/1000 views), they'd be making 1.5 lakh dollars a month easily- that's more than 1 crore in INR monthly. And this is not accounting for YouTube views and other sponsored/PR stuff. Even with server costs and others, that leaves plenty in the bank. That's the beauty of user generated content!

Wouldn't be surprised if they had an option to go ad-free for premium members in the future- that's normally the line of monetisation for a forum. But India is a fledgling country in that respect- so perhaps they've not implemented it yet.

i remember when i was new to this site there was another site called telly masala sth (not sure) like IF they used to have wu and fanfics, some users used to crosspost there and we would have stalkers from that site. i dont remember it much bt i wonder if it shut shop.

I still cant digest 15cr members😆 bt then IF dont really need 15cr, bt maybe dedicated lakhs who will log in multiple times a day (like me) ad free to kabhi nhi hoga so....bt i still think the 'fandom' feeling is lost here twitter and insta is in right now
