Exactly, if he could clearly say that he is committed and umeed mat rakhna, he has to clearly say that he is no more committed but he would like to consider to let go of the deal if she wishes. The deal marriage was his idea. Sai did not initiate ki she is committed and umeed mat rakhna....she said that in response to his umeed mat rakhna...

If he can let even Sonali kaku to comment on her parvarish and her parents without uttering a word, what umeed can she keep from him?

And when Sai has brought up this question of his a pakhi's pyar-dosti, he has not even responded to that yet.

TBH this whole scene is a bit confusing. Virat reaches expert level of jalebi-making in this scene...so my head starts spinning.

Sai tells him that she did not really want to come to the trip with him. This triggers his insecurity and rejection phobia so much that whatever revealing statements Sai makes after that goes unregistred/only partially registered (regarding how his pyarosti is affecting their marriage). He just misconstrues it as Sai throwing hurtful statements regarding Virakhi (especially considering that Pakhi is now his brother's wife) because she is angry at the morning fiasco.

True. Him not setting boundaries when Pakhi intrudes their private space is something I don't understand.

The scene is very confusing and cannot be referred for gauging Virat’s feelings for Sai. It has Ladakh trip jagda residue from both of them. And both of them were in a bad place. It’s human to talk shit when you are upset and angry on your spouse and in sairat case the marriage itself was questioned just a while ago.

About Virat lying about yoga love, I think he feels ashamed-guilty or both to accept it openly because now pakhi is his brothers wife.

Also Typical of his character to brush aside the facts so that he doesn’t have to confront it.

Her father just died and that too saving him. Her outburst was understandable. It's human nature to resent that person. But Sai is a much bigger person to let that event go , she didn't even bring it in one their confrontations where virat keeps talking about his ehsaans.

Anyway, let's talk about the current context. He denied his past and has no boundaries where pakhi is concerned.

Yes, very confusing. Sai clearly says in the fight "I never keep any expectations from you because I know ours is a deal marriage and you will never be able to fulfill those expectations". There can be but one meaning for it. I'm still not sure how much of this Virat has registered even now.

Virat doesn’t show often but deep down he believes Sai hates him and can never love him so every-time she reminds him of deal he thinks it’s no use explaining to her . Her indifference doesn’t make him admit his changed feelings . There is fear of refusal and fear of her reaction when he shared his raw feelings. This I agree with. He does believe that she doesnt like him..Hate too strong a word..so I am not using it.. He has said time and again tum mujhe pasand nahi karti.. So looks like he is still trying to find some place in her heart.. Sometimes he longings are quite visible because of how brilliant Neil is in his portrayal when Sai openly declares her love for her Aaba, Aayi and Devi.
