I don't understand how someone can make movies like Manikarnika, claim to love India so much, have so much Indian pride and then go on to support an archaic institution that once drained India of its wealth.......

I get that there are two sides to a story. I get that the queen has done something to leave behind a colonial legacy and cultivate good faith. But I feel we should be critically examining monarchy. Colonial elitism and upper class/caste elitism in India fed and grew of each other. Despite good intentions, both systems have tons of racism and class discrimination baked in. We need to call out those institutions.
