But otherwise , in the real world, I prefer not taking the surname cause it makes u have to get documents n all. Better is to keep ur orginal name there😆. But in serials, I expect her to turn Anokhi Bhalla Sabharwal 😆.

No no I am not expecting intact I dread marriage for the couple now. But I recalled Anokhi's speech about identity and name of a woman being linked to a man. She said I don't want to be known as this person's daughter or this person's wife. I just want to be me. Anokhi. So I thought will falling in love change her POV and will that give rise to a conflict with a conservative man like Shaurya? I had a thought while I was trying out ideas for an OS.

It is easier with Kaur n u dont have to worry about taking any names of anyone...😆

Aahh see i live in america its kind of different here like once i take my hubby last name i have to change it on everything n its free lol that is why i was planning to do it...😆cause if i want to change it on my own i have to pay a fee n its like a long process... but with marriage certificate is kind of easier...😳

But is it legally required for say like Filing taxes or in a passport or something? In India it's required in Half and it's not necessary in half. Say I have to get a Visa to a middle eastern country but they don't allow single or women traveling alone and they verify your marriage certificate and last name. But if I have a US visa on my maiden name it can cause it to raise some eyebrows.

Yes I agree with you here. But its not necessary to take your hubby’s name. My father in law asked me to change for the bank account purposes. But it involved so many legal process cz of our laws. And everything of my ID bears my maiden name. So my hubby said no need to change as it will create a problem for me here in processing of my documents.

His name is not mentioned anywhere except of my emergency contact list.. 😆 n now after 7 years on my passport in spouse name column. I told him itne se khush ho jaao.. 🤣

Why should boys have all the fun?? 😆

Nope its not required legally here. Its just you have to send copy of your docs to get an tax id number. Here all goes according to your given name on visa stamp.

Yes it is legally required for everything if i take my hubby last name Dhillon then i would have to change it everywhere n use at all times...even my work would require me to change it...but since i didnt take his last name n on our marriage certificate he has singh n i kept my name the way it was... they didnt require me to change it anywhere since i kept my name...

Yes these banks are the most annoying. And IT people. Yes Passport offices have really shown the way by adding spouse column without changing names but it's still a pain with getting family Visa with a different last name.

I know been there done that. But its a too much hassle. I know as just for the change of spelling in my mom’s passport it took 3 months n lots of legal processes..

So I didn’t change it. In visa form they ask that do you use other names there you have to state all other names you are using on your ID.

One of my friend had to wait for a whole year just to change her name on every document to be with her husband in Australia. Its a headache n she told me don’t change anything. 😂😂

I think I would like her to keep her real name intact. I saw her speech where she said before being someone's daughter or wife, I'm anokhi. Since this is abt her journey and the journey of a woman being free to do what she wants regardless of her relationship status. Hence, I'd like to see her making her own decisions. I think it should be her preference and knowing Anokhi, she may not change anything abt her or her identity.

I don't want Shaurya to even interfere w that. It should be addressed only if she wants to.

On a personal note, if i get married, i don't plan on changing my name. There are too many formalities to go through and i dont think my relationship status should impact my name change. That's just me though right now, who knows what happens if I do get married, I may change my mind then lol
