I am still just halfway through reading Shipped. Just not in the zone to read anything. Also, the books is pretty average so far so that also doesn’t help.

The book pick for the month of March is -

Genre: fantasy, supernatural, paranormal

Today's the review day..... Totally forgot considering Feb only has 28 days. 😆
So here it is......
My view of Shipped by Angie Hockman
I have read books like this before. They follow the same.
1. The heroine doesn't like the hero and it obviously is a misunderstanding.
2. There is always an x-factor,here being the galapagos.
3. There is always some sort of dramatic ending.
It was short, sweet and enjoyable reading. It wasn't something out of the box(galapagos aside). The characters could have been written more realistically. If the story was woven any differently around galapagos, it would have left a mark. The beautiful description of galapagos made me look up the fare of cruise trip and also made me feel poor right away. The destination is a dream .
I am going to give this book 3 stars.

@bold: I feel like that's the reason you find romance novels average a lot of time. You've read so many, nothing is new. For me, even the dumbest storyline has something new when it comes to romance.😆 I guess I need to read more of this genre.
SHIPPED
2/5
I had such high expectations as soon as I read the comparison to The Hating Game and The Unhoneymooners (two of my all time favourite romances) that when this book did nothing for me, I was hugely disappointed!
I could relate to Henley's character when she often forgot to take care of herself and always worked/thought about working, not taking time out to spend with family and friends. Most of us struggle with that and those were the times I felt truly connected to her. Also, the sisterhood and friendships were very sweet
But, I didn't care for the romance one bit!
Mild spoilers below-
I feel like the author could have worked on writing better banter between Henley and Graeme. It was very obvious that the enmity was one-sided and Graeme likes her! I love the trope where the hero is secretly pining for the heroine but I disliked how it was executed here.
I also hated how it was not at all mentioned in the synopsis that Henley's sister was also coming to the cruise. I started reading expecting something else but it ended up being a very underwhelming experience!
--------
Loved reading descriptions of the Galápagos, definitely not opposed to picking up this author's future works!

Vicious is Book 1 so obviously, start from there.
Warm Up is a short story, sort of like a prequel. I think it gives insight about a certain character from Book 1 (not sure about that). Not necessary to read.
Book 2 is Vengeful but Vicious was originally written to be a standalone so I suppose there's a conclusion to the plot. It does stand on its own.
Super excited about Vicious! 🥳 I have heard a lot of good things.
I did not read Maybe Someday as I heard there's cheating involved and instance of the author trying to romanticize it? Sounds like a book I would definitely give 1 star. 😆
@Anam: Things are better now, thank you. 🤗
Aha, I had a lot of fun picking out books with Diya.
I agree. Mysteries often concentrate on the plot but the strong point of Rebecca was definitely the characters and how real they felt!
