Chapter 15

Here we go.....

Shaurya reached the venue and was welcomed by all the organisers. He politely thanked them all and went inside to the main hall. He desperately wanted to end his work fast and go in the search of his wife.

Along with others Anokhi applauded enthusiastically as Arjun ended his poem. His voice was very soothing and she could already see girls around her giving him puppy eyes. It's no surprise that Arjun is a handsome young guy.

But not her type. Obviously. She knew that after their divorce Mr Hitler Sabharwal would forget her , but what about her? Would she? No matter what her eyes would always look for him. Wait for him as he came back from college, sit with him as he eat his dinner or give him his coffee.

She knew after what happened last night she couldn't understand him ever. There is so much pain bottled inside him and she couldn't help but recall his eyes. They were eyes of a innocent kid whose world is darkened by pain and betrayal.

" Hey Nikki let's go, I want to introduce you to someone very special. " Arjun said.

" But who?" Anokhi asked as Arjun dragged her along with him.

" Here she is. The woman I wanted to introduce you , my former professor and my favourite teacher Aastha Kashyap. " Arjun announced.

Both Anokhi and Aastha looked at each other with surprise.

" What? She is your teacher?" Anokhi asked.

" Yes she is. And Aastha mam she is my bhabhi Anokhi Sabharwal. " Arjun introduced her. " Do you know each other?"

Aastha stared at Anokhi and Arjun in disbelief. She has known Arjun for a good one and a half year. But much to her surprise she never got to know that he is related to Sabharwals. Infact, she never met his family, but never ever even in her wildest thoughts she thought of this.

" Yes, we do. We met in the park few times and ofcourse she is a amazing woman. I can understand why she is your favourite. " Anokhi said and smiled.

Aastha covered her initial shock and joined them in conversation.

Shaurya looked around the whole venue and sighed in frustration. He couldn't find her. Where would she be?

" Itne bade venue mein kaha dhoondhu uss pindu ko?" He asked himself smiling fondly.

Suddenly he heard sounds of laughter and looked behind. But the sight before him was nothing he expected.

He couldn't understand what is this woman's problem?

He looked as Aastha smiled brightly Arjun's jokes and Anokhi was trying hard to control her laughter. He watched as Arjun put her arm around Anokhi's shoulder. Shaurya clenched his fist in anger. He couldn't believe his eyes.

He requested her , no he begged her not to meet that woman but she didn't listen.

He walked towards them and glared at the three of them.

" Bhai, thank god aap a gaye. By the way sorry we couldn't inform you about this. But aapne Anokhi ko kyu nahi bataya? Anyways now let's go and enjoy. " Arjun said cheerfully.

" I think this is enough for now. Now if you don't mind then may I have a word with my wife?" He asked in a eerily calm voice.

" Bhaiya is everything alright?" Arjun asked.

" I just want to talk with her" he said and grabbed Anokhi's hand dragging her along with him.

" What is it Mr Sabharwal? Is everything...."

" Why you did it? Tell me why? One thing I asked you only one thing, but why you don't listen? Tell me why?" He asked.

" Mr Sabharwal I didn't know she would be here. It was just..... Arjun introduced us...."

" Stop this..... Arjun this..... Arjun that.....why always Arjun? I am your husband. Not Arjun. " He said .

" Then why you rejected me? Why you did...... Arjun is my friend, he makes me happy. You are even ashamed to call me your wife. I like to talk with him, he understands me....."

" That's enough. " Shaurya whispered and walked away.

Aastha looked at Shaurya as he took Anokhi with him and she knew something bad is going to happen.

" He will misunderstand us. " Arjun said.

" It's my fault. " Aastha whispered.

" It's not your fault that you are his mother. "

Aastha stared at him in disbelief.

" I know mam, I know everything. My mom told me. And I know, how much Anokhi and bhai are suffering in this marriage which was literally forced on them. But they need to try. Especially bhai, I know if he would take a step Anokhi will take ten. I know they are mad made for each other. But bhai is too afraid because of his past and....." Arjun stopped..

Aastha closed her eyes as tears rolled down her cheeks. Surely she was a good daughter and a inspiring woman. But she failed.....as a mother.

Shaurya went to his room and banged the door in rage. He looked at the roses he brought for her and threw them away.

He was an idiot to believe that. Ofcourse, she won't. She and Arjun. They both would make an ideal pair. Both are good looking, same age group and could understand each other better.

She would never accept a guy like him , who is older, carrying a lot of emotional baggage and ofcourse......

" Mr Sabharwal please.... atleast give me a.... chance. " Anokhi said as she continuously knocked on the door.

" Anokhi let me try. I will apologise to him. " Arjun said.

" No Arjun it's not your fault. I betrayed his trust. Tum jao, I will manage. " Anokhi said.

" Anokhi but....."

" Don't worry Arjun I know......"

Reluctantly Arjun went away from there .

" Mr Sabharwal please let me explain. You are misunderstanding the situation. " She said as tears rolled down her cheeks.

" Don't. I don't want to listen anything. Remember, there is nothing between you and me. You don't have to explain anything to anyone. After all you are just a guest here. " He said venomously and walked out of the house.

Anokhi went to the garden and sat down on the same bench she found him last night. She couldn't understand this situation. What is the exact reason for his anger? She sobbed harder remembering his words.

" Tch tch tch, looks like our beloved Anokhi bhabhi is kicked out of the room. " Bebo taunted.

" Wow bhaiya ke dil mein to jagah nahi bana sakhi par ab room mein bhi...."

" Stop it. Please bas karo. How could you be pleased with other people's miseries?" Anokhi asked.

" How could you? Shaurya bhaiya was so happy. He wanted to take you out with him, but you went with your lover boy. " Kitty said.

" What?" Anokhi asked in disbelief.

" you don't deserve our bhaiya. Tum kaha ganwar and our Shaurya bhaiya the coolest professor and one of the most handsome man. He has a class and you....."

" Kitty Bebo this is the last time I am saying this. Behave yourself. " Shaurya scolded them coming there.

Both the girls went away from there and Shaurya was about to go when Anokhi grabbed his hand.

" I didn't know you wanted to.....".

" It doesn't matter. It's not like.......I just wanted to pay you back for your help. " Shaurya replied rudely as he jerked his hand away and walked away from there.

" Then why I see pain in your eyes. " Anokhi whispered.

" Mr Sabharwal your breakfast...." Anokhi said, but once again Shaurya ignored her and went out of the house.

He had been doing this since that night. He not even looked at her.

" Anokhi , I ...."

" No Arjun it's not your fault. Please don't. It's not like it matters much , this situation is only temporary. But one thing I couldn't is why he hate Aastha aunty? She seems a good woman. Then why?"

Arjun hesitated and then replied , " that only Shaurya bhaiya could tell you. "

Anokhi nodded albeit reluctantly.

" By the way today I am moving out. " Arjun announced.

" What?"

" Yes, actually with a friend. We are parteners in project so we will be staying together. I don't want to create any problems and concentrate on what I am here for. " He said remembering the promise he made himself when he saw the longing in Shaan -Aastha's eyes and the yearning of a mother he saw.

Shaurya closed the file and closed his eyes in frustration. He couldn't even concentrate in work. It's almost eight. All the family members would be gone in the wedding , he should go home now.

He opened the door and saw the person he least expected.

" What are you doing here?" He asked angrily.

" I am here to talk with you." Aastha replied.
