If yes, then I'm super happy for Shatanu. He will get to break the mold of a good chocolate boy with an opportunity to show a dodgy side. Hope he is able to pull it off..

On the flipside, that might mean a lesser screen space as Gangu eloping with her husband to Mumbai and then getting sold to a brothel might just be a prelude to roll Gangu's story out.

I agree Tripti would've been perfect, but would she have brought audiences to the theatre like Alia? I think not.

Also, Alia, too, fits the role perfectly. Please take a look at pics of actual Gangubai. She could be Alia's granny from their looks.

tbh I’m more excited about this 😂

I don't like prostitute movies at all and I'm vain so I don't like those dirty gritty movies set in slums either. So in that sense, I'm glad Bhansali has as usual used all his fake looking pretty sets so that the movie almost looks like a fantasy fable.

Alia is also better than I expected. She's quite nice.

But Bhansali always makes good trailers so let's see. Saawariya looked so good in the ads and then the movie itself was horrendous.
