Wow. it's been a while since I posted on this forum and it feels good to be back.
First off. The show! Now I do like the overall plot and how the story is unfolding. I wouldn't say i am big fan of family drama in general but if done well, don't really mind it. The story did take it's own sweet time in the whole set up but it was worth it. All the main plots and side plots have been good in general. Although I sincerely hope that anokhi's brother is not let off so easily. Seriously, he almost killed Aastha. So hope in the future that one is explored better. To leave it just like that would be lazy writing.
Now to the favourite part of the show: LEADS! Their chemistry is crackling. I haven't had my heart flutter by ITV couple since arshi. And that was long ago ( tbh I fear revisiting that show again. I am sure would find it pretty problematic now)
The whole MCP set up of Shaurya in the promos was off putting but it did intrigue me. I wanted to see how they would go about this character who was so blatantly chauvinistic. But it was pleasant surprise to see him so well written and so human. I am developing a huge crush on him.
And anokhi is such a delightful character to watch. Her struggles, her dreams, her perseverance really makes you root for her. What I fear when it comes to the treatment of ITV female leads is that they try to make them too Mahan and goody two shoes. Put them on pedestal, which strips them from the added layers and flaws which are explored in cases of male leads and eventually we find them annoying.
So far it hasn't happend in case of Anokhi and hope doesn't in the future. She is flawed and also right in her own way. So far has been a voice of reason for Shaurya- which he needs. Let's hope cvs don't overdo that.
Their interactions are just pure fire. I love their banter. And that tension between them is just sooo good. I like the pace. It's not too fast nor too slow. That car ride scene was perfect mix of awarkdness and cawareness of chemistry brewing between them.
Today's scene too. It was short but so good. I loved loved that he said sorry and how his voice got soft when he told her to stay put. It made my heart skip a beat.
Really looking forward to more of future Shakhi scenes and their story.
