DP 'acted' like a lifeless zombie in Bajirao Mastani and the less said about her useless small role in Padmaavat, the better! Priyanka totally overshadowed her big time as Kashibai in BM and even in Padmaavat....forget Khilji, even Aditi Rao Hydari managed to steal DP's thunder there actingwise and even aesthetically! Aditi looked more regal and gorgeous unlike unibrow Padukone! So yup....after Priyanka, it was Aditi who wiped the floor with the grossly overrated DP in a Bhansali production. How embarrassing! No wonder SLB never considered DP for a solo female-led project like Gangubai because even he is aware of DP's limitation as a performer 🎃

So yeah...you DP worshipers really need to stop sulking and suck that up! Just sit down!!!

Lol I am no DP worshipper. I don't want to see Vidya, Tabu or Rani in this role as they have already played such parts earlier. Same goes with Kangana. PC is busy making her way into Hwood so no point discussing.

Alia seems way too polished for this role. And Dps dialogue delivery was exactly the reason why I felt maybe she could have made it look more believable. Tripti , Vaani, Sanya are the ones who need that opportunity to shine but sad noone is casting them for such big films.

For those who think Alia doesn't look the part.

*This* was the actual Gangubai Kothewali in her OLD age. This sweet-looking granny was actually a mafia queen. She ran away from home to get married and also to be an actress. Her husband sold her to a brothel.

Alia fits the role perfectly in her physical form, and I hope she hits it out of the park.

Post the nepotism debate , bollywood is desperate for success.

While in South 2 movies have released and have done extremely well without this much hype and during the pandemic.

I think it is time bollywood stopped running on pr and glamour and pay more to the writers for better films otherwise south and ott will eat up its market which we are already seeing.

OT:It is an average teaser,not bad by any means,but not super amazing the way every celeb is raving about it on SM.Aloo looks pretty though and her body language while enacting the scene in the poster is good,though she seems a bit conscious in few other bits.Anyways looks much better than Kalank and Sadak 2.

You have high hopes.😆 Forget paying more. At least pick good stories. I don't get it. India has rich cultural heritage which they can mine without even resorting to making fantasy films. I mean Roja was an adaptation of Satyavan-Savitri. Then there is more current litt. Are they serious in claiming no one is writing good stories? They need to get out of the Chetan Bhagat bubble and look around. Maybe not White Tiger level, but Q&A could've been made into a more authentic version than Slumdog if an Indian team had done it.

So Gangubai is a definite improvement. At least SLB is trying new stories instead of the same plotless romance/gangster movie nonsense.

Alia does a pretty good job with that deadpan sarcastic tone, but I do think she's been miscast. The role needed someone a little older or at least someone more imposing.

SLB's sets looks so recycled at this point. For all that money he wastes on his budget, he could at least try a little harder with making his sets look different😆

Taking all that into consideration, this is one SLB film I'm curious about, since at least the cast is different for once😆
