And who is covering up for Maya when Nani was trying to reprimand her at which point Maya started fake crying and forced even Junaid to speak up for her against his own nani?
She didn’t even tell Amaar as to why she couldn’t prepare a decent meal for Nani. What was that for? Before that, she doesn’t tell him why she didn’t want him to quit his job and makes him misunderstand her. Even he is getting to know her just now right, doesn’t she have the responsibility to be at least open and honest with him? The poor guy felt so guilty once he overheard Maya’s nonsense.
When did she speak up BTW?😕
EDIT: Oh I said good people like her are a ‘detriment’ to the families, which is true. Such people act as the enablers to the bad people like Maya. If Fariha wasn’t there, Maya wouldn’t even have set her foot into that house and created so much chaos and literally get their ancestral home to which Nani was so attached sold and be the cause for Nani’s hospitalization. Fariha knowingly invited trouble upon the poor family all because she was ‘too nice’ to say ‘no’ to her badi mom’s schemes. From the beginning she has been doing such idiotic things at the behest of Maya and her mom, hiding things from her bade abbu. And now she is doing the same things hiding from her new family.
Fariha is naive and too good for her own good, but that doesn't make her a 'detriment to the family'. Each member of that family is culpable to some extent, but the main culprits are Maya, her mother, and Salman.
Amar is not an approachable spouse, so I don't blame Fariha entirely for not coming clean with him about why the food wasn't made. He has a short fuse and the minute he hears anything negative anywhere in the vicinity of his brother he blows.
In the last episode alone Fariha had it out with Maya in the kitchen and then again in the garden. Her hamartia, if you like, is that she attempts to keep the peace when someone in the family is expressing negative opinions (usually about Maya). However her saving grace is that she is willing to confront Maya directly.
And yes, if Fariha wasn't there Maya probably wouldn't have married Salman... she'd just be reeking havoc in another families life.
By the way, in the same vein, if Nani had said no to the rishta Maya wouldn't be there. If Bade Abu was smart enough to refuse marrying the girls off into one household, Maya wouldn't be there. If Salman had any common sense he would have said no to the rishta after seeing how disrespectfully she behaved when she came for dinner.
If Salman cared about his Nani at all he would have nipped Maya's idea to sell their ancestral home in the bud. If Nani took a stand and refused to give Salman permission to sell the house it wouldn't have happened. If Amaar stopped being such a lapdog and took a stand for his principles, his Nani and his wife, the house wouldn't have sold. At least Fariha tried convincing Maya to let go of the idea to sell the house. She also told Nani no one can go against her and the house wont be sold if she says so. That's more than any of the others did.
I think you're unfairly laying all the blame at Fariha's feet. Of course she's fallible, but like I said each member of the family is culpable to an extent.
