Yup i am a out gor shaurya, maybe that's just my personal preference. But what annoys me is shivaay ka nkk jaap applied to everyone na men or women..
Asad ka conservatism..same case men or women..maybe a little more for women.
But both of them respected women and they did consider women equal to men.
With shaurya, he doesn't respect women.
I've yet to see a scene where he puts men women equally. I'd rather you have anger issues like sobti's charcter in ipkknd or be conservative like asad or arrogant and riding a high horse like shivaay. But if you show that your ml doesn't respect women then sorry, it's a gamechanger me.
Logically because a the other arcs can still be handled and mistakes shown in their redemption arcs can be put aside.
But if you're showing *planning to show* this kinda redemption arc like shaurya's ... it's verryyy tough like climbing everest tough because a single mistake your ml makes will put him 100 steps backwards!!

You do have a point that Shivaay's NKK-ness wasnt restricted to one gender. However, he still treated Anika terribly, especially around their marriage time. Now that could be argued that it was because of what he thought about her and Daksh. But J genuinely hated that phase and also the very beginning when due to him, shebloses SaHil's custody. With Asad, it was more gender oriented - his conservatism was feared more towards women. Look at how he controlled Najma; from her clothing snd hairstyle right to her life choices. If we look at it from a feminist POV that is equally, if not more toxic. With Asad, it is stranger because he was raised by a woman who held no such thoughts. But of course, both these characters went through immense growth while having me questioning my sanity several times on the way there😆 Fudge. I feel like an asshole myself now..
With Shaurya.. I am yet to witness such extreme behaviours and thoughts so I cant form a full opinion about him. Does he keep his thoughts to himself or does he make it reflect in his actions. Basically just all talk or no. If its just talk, I feel that is ok and in fact, a good chance for a progressive arc to be shown on TV. It needs time to be able to tell that. From where I see it, they are showing the worst right now to show the journey or this ambitious girl. (That is of course if they dont deflect eventually, which they will because .. numbers)
But then again, I dont even watch the show fully.I am curious though so I will check its clips... even without the misogyny it looks like a show that will be one that will need rants.
Or we could just read what happens in the Bangla version 😆
