I do suggest one thing though, it’s lovely that you are enjoying indian tradition and customs, but I do hope that back of your mind you know that 99% of the times, the way they show our customs and rituals is very over the top and exaggerated. No ritual is ever forced in our customs, in fact our own rituals have alternatives present if some don’t work and also rituals change from state to state and sometimes even from households to households within a state. Ethnicity, origins and language determine the details of a ritual.

Sorry didn’t mean to become a lecture at all. 🤪 but frankly I am so pissed with how the show portrays joint families. It is such crap and inhuman behavior- I grew up in a joint family and even though I now live away from them for work, my bhabhi and sister and mom live together. Nobody treats people like this. Anyways don’t want to be a dampener ...enjoy! 💗❤️
