Chapter 33

“For there to be betrayal,

there would have to have been trust first.”

"Knowing can be a curse on a person's life. I'd traded in a pack of lies for a pack of truth, and I didn't know which one was heavier. Which one took the most strength to carry around? It was a ridiculous question, though, because once you know the truth, you can't ever go back and pick up your suitcase of lies. Heavier or not, the truth is yours now" thought Ridhima while lying back in her bed in the hospital room.

"How come she is here? If she is here, then why none from the family has told me about it?" thinks Ridhima facing Sejal, "Does Sejal also know about her?" while in a short period of time sleep takes over her thoughts due to the exhaustion and stress

VR Mansion: -

Dadi was eagerly waiting for Ridhima to come along with Sejal and Aryan. Besides, Sia is already ready with the Aarti ki Taal. While everyone's eyes were glued at the main door well, maybe not all Ishani and Chachi were least interested but they needed to be there because of Dadi. Waiting at the door they saw an altogether different car entering the VR Mansion. All were shocked to see once again Mohan Pandey stepping down from the car and surprised to see Vansh Rai Singhania coming out of the other side of the car making all gasp in surprise, happiness, and joy visible on the faces of Dadi, Ishani, Sia, and Angre whereas Chanchal had a somewhat unsure smile playing on her face not knowing whether she should be happy or sad, and Rudra Chachu had a half-smile playing on his face.

Dadi was the first one to reach him and hug him tightly,

"Vansh, I know you would be coming back soon. I know Ridhima's Bappa won't leave you all alone in the prison"

says Dadi shedding some happy tears. The line followed by Ishani, Angre, Rudra, Chanchal, and then Sia.

"Sia, you're back on your feet?"

says Vansh with overwhelming joy and unshed tears of happiness forming in his eyes

"Ha, Bhai! I can walk now. Until earlier I used to walk with a stick but these days I'm practising on my own. I might need some more time but then as overall, I'm back on my foot, see"

says Sia while twirling around Vansh and he hugs her and kisses her on the forehead,

"I have waited for this moment for ages; Now it happened. It's the best welcome gift I could have ever gotten"

says Vansh while forming a tear dropped from his eyes for his sister and searches for one that person who is the reason for his happiness.

As if understanding his curiosity, Sia says,

"Bhabi is not at the home. She will come in some time. We don't know you were coming, so she has some work to complete"

lies Sia as she knows how her Vansh bhai might react if he gets to know bhabi was in the hospital.

Inspector Mohan and the rest of the family look at Sia understanding where it is coming from and turns their gaze at the main door to get inside. While they were on the last stairs, they saw another car entering the house and Vansh gets to see it were Aryan, Sejal, and Ridhima while Aryan was driving the car.

"Since when Aryan became this close to Sejal and Ridhima to drive for them,"

thought Vansh and looks concentrating on the side Ridhima sat as he wanted to share many things with her.

Sejal was the first one to come out and goes to Ridhima's side to open her door which made Vansh puzzled up while Aryan got down the car with some medicinal bags which made Vansh's heart to palpitate and he gets down from the stairs to see Ridhima coming out in a looking all weak and having few bandaids on her both hands if he wasn't mistaken those look like for cannulas.

"What happened to you?"

says Vansh marching towards her, putting both his hands on her shoulders examining her and hugs her pushing Sejal aside while Aryan was happy to see Vansh back home had a half-smile on his face and Sejal upon realizing what happened and how she had been pushed glared at Vansh having mixed emotions not sure whether she should be happy for him or strangle him.

Vansh tightens the grip on her,

"I'm asking you something, Ridhima. What happened to you?"

while Ridhima not sure what to do and how to react stood there with her hands down hesitatingly she put her hands on his back and trying to get away him from herself, she says,

"I'm fine, Vansh."

Vansh comes out of the hug and looks at her one more time and turned towards his family,

"Who did this with her? Aryan - Chachi is it you both or Ishani is it you?"

shouts Vansh and steps away to march towards them, making them go tensed, however, Ridhima holds his hand and says,

"None of them. Isn't it Inspector Mohan?"

making Vansh look at Mohan in rage,

"You knew about this?"

he asks while Mohan nods and Vansh gets away from Ridhima and stands in front of Mohan,

"Then why you didn't tell me yesterday?"

Vansh in his baritone voice though, the anger in it wasn't hidden from anyone.

Seeing Vansh burning in rage, Mohan takes a deep sigh and says,

"This is why I didn't reveal Mr Vansh. This anger of yours might make you convict again and this time for real"

while meeting his eyes with his owns confident gaze on which Vansh takes a step back and heads towards Ridhima.

Vansh lifts Ridhima in his arms making her a little startled and walks through the stairs while Sia does the aarti. All through Vansh's eyes were stuck at Ridhima it was making her uncomfortable and on the other side, he was lost in her.

Kailash was watching everything while standing at the stairs and unable to digest the fact that his nephew and Ridhima are back at VR Mansion. Keeping the same sweet emotions plastered on his face, he meets them once they enter the hall

"Vansh, my baccha, you're back! I'm so happy. Do you even know how much I was worried for you?"

says Kailash hugging Vansh while the latter's fingers curl into a fist trying to controlling his anger. Kailash turns towards Ridhima and says,

"Dear, I have heard someone had kidnapped you. Who is it? Tell me or give a hint, I will make sure they spend the rest of their lives in the jail"

making Mohan roll his eyes while Vansh pulls Ridhima towards him and looking at her asks,

"You were kidnapped? By whom?"

Even before Ridhima could answer him, Vansh moves towards Mohan,

"So yesterday while you were talking about it and everything, you didn't bother to inform me about all of this, the person you hid about is my Riddhima. I understand your concern for me, but she is my wife"

shouts Vansh who was about to charge at Mohan, however, at that moment before he could, Ridhima stops him,

"Vansh, please. Stop it don't forget he is an on-duty officer so, please behave. Whatever Inspector Mohan did was to protect you"

says Ridhima little irked up while Vansh pulls down his hands and goes near Kailash.

"You're right Chachu. I'm not going to leave the person who has hurt my wife. I will make sure he rots for his whole life in the jail"

says Vansh in his baritone making Kailash smile nervously at his statement.

Mohan moves to Ridhima and passes her phone back to her and says,

"This helped us a lot Mrs Ridhima. Now, with due respect, I will take further actions, accordingly"

says Mohan standing before everyone.

"I know everyone is surprised to see me stand here. Well, long story short. I'm not just an inspector, I'm Mohan Pandey, Head of CBI Mumbai"

making everyone gasp hearing it including Kailash excluding Ridhima and Vansh.

"I entered into this mansion in the disguise of a normal inspector to know about the actual Mafia person whom Interpol and RAW had been after and were trying to find for so long. As you all know, Mr Vansh Rai Singhania was arrested for the same few days ago. However, we are happy to say it is not VR but it is someone else from this family"

making all look confused. While unknowingly everyone looked at Rudra which made Rudra look down in hurt and disappointment but Mohan continues,

"No, it is not Rudra Rai Sighanaia. It is another son of this house, Mr Kailash Rai Singhania"

announces Mohan making everyone rooted in their place with the shocking news.

"Kailash...."

says Dadi jolted with the news and her legs not able to support her collapsing her on the floor, but before she could hit the ground Angre and Aryan catch Dadi.

"Kailash, how could you?"

asks Rudra making Kailash smirk,

"Ah! So, everyone got to know I'm the one. Great! Even I'm tired of playing this holier than thou facade and oh so good and nice person. I was tired of pretending that I was someone else just to get along with you people, just for the sake of this whole property"

making all gasp at him hearing him. Kailash moves from his place and occupies the centre position of the hall facing everyone,

"I was like a chocolate in a box, looking nice, well behaved, and perfect in its place, all the while harbouring a secret centre. Ah, no, no, don't look at me like that. We Rai Sighanias are all the same. Fighting for the property isn't it true Rudra Bhai? There’s no such thing as a good or bad person: there are just people who have each been or seem to have been good or bad to you, someone, or some people, thus far... I have been good for/to you guys more than what I'm"

says Kailash taking the high chair of Vansh.

"Why?"

asks Vansh with a pain in his voice and continues saying,

"You could have asked, Chachu, why did you betray us?"

"Asked, did you just say ask, Vansh?"

asks Kailash in disbelief getting up from the chair and locking his eyes with Vansh.

"Why the hell should I ask you? Why you have the whole authority over the property? You have never trusted us, neither Rudra bhai and I. We have always been scrutinized under your gaze. The day when Ajay bhai died, I felt it's time Maa will give us the rights, but then she gave you. I wanted to kill you with my bare hands, that moment itself"

says Kailash making Dadi wail who was crying silently till now while the rest of the family got rooted in their spots seeing Kailash's other side with tears falling down from a few of their eyes.

"But, if I had killed you, then what? What and how could have that helped or benefitted me? So I thought to use you as bait for my Mafia world. I was filled with anger, however, it's a paralyzing emotion ... you can't get anything done. People sort of think it's an interesting, passionate, and igniting feeling — I don't think it's any of that — it makes you feel helpless ... it's helplessness...it's the absence of control — and I need all of my skills, all of the control, all of my powers ... and anger doesn't provide any of that — I have no use of it whatsoever"

says Kailash walking around the family and smirkingly standing in front of Vansh.

"So, I used this good person facade and made sure to take your signatures whenever it is needed"

says Kailash making an innocent face for a moment before once again that evil smirk formed on his face. Once again turning back and taking the high chair of the Vansh.

"Now, you see Mr Mohan, I have confessed everything myself, now, how are you going to arrest me? There is no such evidence which can prove I'm the actual Mafia lord"

says Kailash with a wink at him while picking the gun from his pocket and scaring the family with a lazy wave of his gun from his hands

Mohan smirks,

"Whatever you have said now, it has been recorded by me, Mr Kailash. Confidence is good but over-confidence, Nah! Not so good."

says Mohan taking steps towards Kailash while the latter laughs hysterically his body language looking all chilled out and relaxed,

"Did you just say recorded, Go ahead and see whether anything got recorded in the first place?"

says Kailash tilting his head with an amused smile playing on his face making others confused

"What do you mean?"

says Mohan while checking his recorder to see nothing got recorded.

"How?"

asks Mohan with his brows furrowed while Kailash smiles and says,

"Mohan, you might be the head of the crime branch, however, I'm the lord of the crime. The moment you said who you were, I have switched on the jammer through my watch. You see since past 15 years whenever I do something wrong in this house, I switch on the jammer so nothing gets recorded"

says Kailash as if trying to make a child understand something and pointing his gun towards Mohan's temple casually making Vansh shout,

"No, Chachu. Don't do that."

Mohan pushes away the gun which falls at Vansh's feet who picks it up immediately with the handkerchief while Mohan smirks making Kailash confused,

"You see Kailash, never assume that the person you are dealing with is weaker or less important than you are. I may not have been able to record everything due to the jammer but then again, I already have evidence of your life story. Over and above, the video where you kidnapped Mrs Ridhima is with us. And, another secret let me tell you, just before we reach VR Mansion, I made sure to use the ambient energy, due to which whatever you said might have not recorded in my recorder, but then my people have got the evidence of everything"

says Mohan with confidence oozing out of him while Kailash catches Mohan's collar in anger,

"I will kill you, Mohan Pandey,"

Kailash snarls while Mohan presses the button on his watch alerting his team who surrounded the whole VR family and the mansion.

"Now, you are under arrest Mr Kailash Rai Singhania,"

says Mohan while Kailash was burning in rage. Dadi reaches to the Kailash and slaps him,

"How could you Kailash? Vansh is your child and Ridhima is your daughter-in-law. For the sake of money and power you such heinous things with your blood and with your family. Mohan, please take him away from me. I never and ever want to see his face again."

says Dadi hugging Rudra while the latter consols her.

As Mohan was taking Kailash away, Ridhima stops him,

"One minute Mr Mohan, I have a few questions,"

says Ridhma standing in front of Kailash.

"I understand your emotions with this family, but, why me? Why did you kidnapped me and tortured me with those nightmares and how did you know about them?"

asks Ridhima while rest of them were unaware of what nightmares she was talking about while Sejal stood there shocked to know Kailash was aware of it.

Kailash gives an evil smirk which makes her feel uncomfortable but then Sejal comes forward and stands beside Ridhima making Kailash give a wicked smile to both Sejal and Ridhima,

"I heard about your nightmares the day you were discussing with Sejal and used them against you. Why? Now, why do I need Vansh's wife when I don't need him?"

says Kailash while Vansh shouts,

"Take him away Mohan, we don't need him here anymore."

Kailash turns around and says,

"Life's just a bunch of accidents, connected by one perfect end. You people might not know now, but then again, you will one day"

making everyone breakdown with the Kailash's truth.

Once Kailash left, Vansh turns towards everyone and asks,

"Where is Ragini?"

making Sia say in disbelief,

"Are you still stuck with her Bhai, How could you? However, we didn't see her for two days. Over and above, I think wherever she is, she should stay there"

Sia finished with disinterest making Vansh confused with Sia's twisted words.

"What does that even mean? I'm asking for her to make her own up and answer for her acts. She has sent me to jail, I need to know why she betrayed me again when I trusted her"

says Vansh while Ishani says,

"Exactly, it is you who have trusted her Bhai, not us. Besides, we care a damn about her, and please give us a break"

and leaves the main hall walking towards her room.

Vansh goes near Dadi and kneels before her,

"I'm sorry Dadi. I lost. I thought I was protecting everyone from outsiders but never thought I would face such betrayal from inside of the family itself. I have always been proud of myself but the past few days then made me realize how stupid I'm"

says Vansh while holding both her hands.

Rudra, Aryan, Chanchal, Sia, and Angre were sad to see Vansh's condition while Ridhima, and Sejal stood away feeling somewhat sorry for him. Dadi looks at everyone and her stare stops at Ridhima and she sighs

"Vansh, You have never tried to figure out the things which you felt about that person standing there. When you have no heart to care then there is no meaning to advise others. Instead of that first analyze yourself that what I did wrong with that innocent soul. This deed is called selfishness not sacrifice; this all was for your sake; you should be safe & you did it very well.

You have seen potential as everyone does in their business & you have neglected her because you thought someone else is more worthy than this girl standing here!! You honoured Ridhima with your care and love when you need her and left her all alone when you were more happy & satisfied with Ragini. It's because you don't value those people who are silent, well responsible in their work, well deserved for their love, who were sincere, who were pure souls.

This human here sacrificed her position, her rights as a wife for that Ragini to whom you have considered CAPABLE. This is called sacrifice. This innocent child gave up her position as wife happily because you wanted it. Now, as you have learned a lesson, there is no point to wake up that dead relation. You will be wasting your productive time, you are a king of your empire, you have everything & you have that capability to own anything.

So smash that dead relation, don't even look at it. You will not get anything positive out of it. If you are stubborn then that person standing there is the master of that quality called stubbornness. Ridhima is the best scorer in every play & every ground because that girl is an all-rounder and most importantly a HUMAN"

says Dadi with venom dripping from her mouth directed towards Vansh making all shocked to see such an outburst of Chandrika Rai Singhania aka their beloved maa and dadi which no one had ever seen before.

Dadi stands up and goes to stand in front of Ridhima folding her hands,

"Ridhima beta, would my 'sorry' make any difference? Would it ever? It's just a word. Because it is one word against a thousand actions. There are some experiences in life they haven't invented the right words for. I'm in such a place where I'm sorry yet I have no words to say something when you know I should but I just can't. But then still I would say, 'I'm sorry'."

Dadi said to Ridhima while her cold lips fumble for/with the words.

“Don’t be.”

Ridhima's voice was a low rumble against Dadi, the sound carrying through Dadi's bones, clearer than any of the voices she has been hearing.

“You’ve got nothing to be sorry for"

assures Ridhima with a soothing hug.

"I need to beta, my son and grandson have hurt you a lot. They broke you. Yesterday the doctor said you went through a nervous breakdown, isn't it because of my son? and Vansh?"

Dadi says chuckling sadly while fresh tears fall from her eyes,

"You and I both know what he did with you. One thing I can say is I'm so sorry about what you went through, but I'm not sorry that I met you, beta. Though you can call me selfish, I'm happy that I could meet such a pure soul before I leave this world"

says Dadi while hugging her again and walks away from the place leaving Vansh and Ridhima standing opposite each other.

"Ridhima,"

Vansh began only to be cut by her in the middle,

"It's been a tiresome day for me. Can we speak later?"

asks Ridhima while without hearing his answer she moves away from the place leaving Vansh all alone and breaking him a bit.

i will start from Mohan and Vansh 😆 mohan has known Vansh's nature so well that's why he didn't tell him about Riddhu's situation???

he will burn the prison for sure.🤣 if i have understand vansh's character truely......then when he find out the truth about HIS WIFE ......firstly he will ran to her.....secondly he will leash out his anger on Inspector Mohan after that he hug him and say thank you for helping riddhima😆🤣 i have 100% trust on his mood swings.🤪🤣

Aryan and sejal scene are amazing...👏 blessing in disguise....❤️ Aryan is becoming responsible.😊 love the way he said those line to riddhima for taking resposiblities.........it was honest confession. i am glad Riddhima has observed that change in aryan. even whole family was with Riddhima. finally she was having caring family for that time which she always wants. 😊
