A lot of the examples given here weren't unrequited. They were all people in relationships. But one was more committed than the other. That's unfulfilled maybe, but not unrequited.

Amitabh and Rekha had an affair. After initial heartbreak, Rekha moved on when she realized he won't leave his wife.

Ranbir and Deepika too dated. Deepika was left heartbroken, but one person is always left heartbroken in a breakup. She moved on.

Salman and Ash were a pretty intense relationship. Had it not been for his abusive behavior she wouldn't have left him. Both were definitely left pining for each other in the aftermath. Vivek Oberoi made a mistake of getting in with such a hard rebound. It was evident that Ash left Salman because he was abusive, not because she stopped loving him. Saying Ash used Vivek is harsh. People in rebound are vulnerable and easily fall for anyone who is a shoulder to cry on until they are fully over their ex. Sometimes rebounds do last as well.

I think you can count Salman as loosely unrequited. He did desperately try to get her back acting even more abusive, vindictive, and erratic in the process. Sometimes I feel his whole eternal bachelor facade is because he never got over her.

Don't know much about old Bollywood to say.

I think Karan Johar definitely has had many unrequited loves on account of his sexuality. He definitely has an unfulfilled thing for SRK. I also think he was horny for Sid and Fawad. I wouldn't call it love though.

IDK about Alia and Varun. She always gave me the vibe that she was into Sid a whole lot. She had that girl crush sparkle when she was around him or speaks about him. That is why I have a hard time buying Alia and Ranbir - neither of them have that sparkle you see when people are in love. But it does remind me of Hillary and Bill. There is mutual respect between two people at the peak of their game Their intersecting career trajectories and pedigree make it a logical relationship. And that's the thing - sometimes the person who admires you gives you that ego trip and oxytocin kick that can be headier than love.

The shine in RK's eyes around Anushka is crazy. I feel like he has this unsaid admiration for her. Also he's like a happy kid around Anu, which he generally isn't around others
