Loved your post and the comparison to Jijabai. There are many similarities. Even the alienation that Jijabai and Shivaji had from Shahajiraje (right since she conceived Shivaji) because he did have differences with his father-in-law. For almost all their life, Jijau and Shivaji had only each other because Shahaji had married Tukabai and even disowned Shivaji as his heir. Some challenge this fact but the estrangement is known. So, even Virat has been Ashwini's sole reason to live through this oppression. And Virat, has grown up knowing half-truths that lie beneath the layers of the perfect oil canvas that his family makes. Ashwini has shielded him and taught him the right values but like Jijau, she has not taught him to wage war until compassion fails.

It is a fact that Shivaji was not a warrior initially. He did not fancy wars. He worked on tact and diplomacy. Most of his early conquests were through diplomacy or bribing commanders of enemy forces. But, when Adilshah sent Fateh Khan to kill him, he fought his first war. Jijau taught him to lead by the heart, show compassion and understanding. But then, if it would fail the value of justice, it was okay to pick up the weapon. In the last few episodes, Ashwini has hinted of this too : Ab main chup nahi rahungi.

Yes, Jijau never went to war but she almost did once when she received the news of Shivaji being unable to break out of Panhala fort, sieged by Sidi Jauhar's force. Jijau wanted Shivaji's Sarnaubat Netaji Palkar to arrive from another territorial battle to join her in saving her son. But because Palkar was delayed, she was so upset that she had already armed herself and was willing to rush to Panhala on her own. When Palkar finally arrived, she was so enraged at the prospect of losing Shivaji that she was ready to cut off Palkar's head with the sword in her hand. Somehow, Palkar is said to have calmed her and convinced her to stay back in Rajgadh while he went to Shivaji's aid.

Rajmata Jijau -- the one woman who held Shivaji when he lost his beloved Saibai to death. Although Jijau also passed away soon after and then Shivaji was said to have lived unhappy, going to war despite Soyarabai's attempts to take over the mantle of Saibai, she was truly not just his shade in the sun but also his mirror. Here, too, Ashwini will show Virat the mirror when it is needed (we all know it will be needed).

@ jankiraghav Your knowledge on Maratha (Shivaji maharaj) itihas (actually everything) is amazing. I learnt so much reading your posts.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!❤️

Beautiful post. Ashwini is the pillar of strength for both Virat and Sayi. Virat respects women, and has values only because of her upbringing. If she too like the rest of the Chavan's had not accepted Virat and Sayi's marriage what would have happened?

The way I see Ashwini, whose fierce side is coming out in open after Sai entry, was always aware of the the injustice happeing at Chavhan niwas. She must have harboured the dream of a 'just' family (Jo vyavahar ek bahu ke sathh ho raha, waisahi vyavahar dusari bahu ke sath ho itanahi mei chahati hun). She shaped Virat (Shiva) morally, emotionally. She is 'THE' reason why Virat remained a very sensitive, righteous human being and did not end up becoming an MCP. Looking at the importance, accolades, idolisation Virat received (he was almost kept at pedestal by the family),he not becoming an egoistic male, is not a small feat. She kind of singlehandedly won against the family in this respect inspite of being pushed and kept away from him. Her love for her son must be so pure, yet not blind to inculcate all the right values.

Sai was the first person to aknowledge her feat. "Woh apake bete hai. Apane unhe pala hai" Yes, Ashwini does own the credit.

Ashwini just not supported Virat-Sai fight the family, she led the battle from the front. It is praiseworthy how in all this she still has kept her values high ("Aap muzse badi hai. Apaka samman rakhana mera kartavya hai") No wonder her son even after his beolved wife's marksheets were thrown in the air, calmly came back and held the same hands with utmost politeness and tried convincing MMK to change her thinking.

Virat-Sai should get their due for standing up against what is wrong, but Ashwini is the real noble force they receive their strength from.

What could have Virat-Sai done if Ashwini had not stand-up for them at the time of gruhprevesh?

How their relationship had shaped if Ashwini had not insisted on completing post-wedding rituals and reception?

Ashwini needs big accolades for fighting the battle for Virat-Sai in their presence as well as their absence. If anything Virat can do (he is doing already) for his 'Aai' is to quickly bring 'Sai'rajya at Chavhan Niwas.

One more thing he can do is to give those flying kisses to his 'Aai' for making him the person that he is, hundred times in a day.

Ashwini, your Aai will be happy till eternity!❤️❤️

Vaise both jeejabai & shivaji loved saibai d most , jeejabai considered her as her own daughter & saibai was Shivaji's true love , his last words were sai.😆

Nice post👏

Yes, agree. Shivani bua is amazing. No wonder Bhavani Kaku doesn't like her. But, I wonder how come she's so different from her siblings? Both, Ninad and Omi are her brothers, but their thoughts differ so much.
