Today’s epi was as satisfactory as it was emotional. I love all the thappads from SaiRat to be honest, special mention to those where Virat let Sai do the talking and then agreed to whatever she said. His agreement was like rubbing mirchi on their scars. I have a lot of favorite moments from this episode, but on the top is definitely Sai clearing the air about their marriage. The ‘taras/pity’ jaap was getting over their head, and I am glad that Virat cleared his stance and then agreed with his biwi (Even if I believe him on that, it's not like Sai gave him another choice😆). When Sai said she would not tolerate anyone questioning the basis of their marriage, did you notice how proudly Virat was looking at her?
Oh I began the post with Sai's clearing the "taras" wali shaadi nonsense. It was GOLD! And did Virat not watch her with so much pride and happiness when she said that. 😆 Only, he was too emotional to understand that he also got a rap on the knuckles with "kyun nahi karna chahte they ye to main jaanti hoon" 🤣 when she's firing, she doesn't really care about firing at someone on her own team. Sai Sai! 😵
@bold: me too!! And Virat was so enjoying the frustration of the chakrams with him saying "I agree". 😆
I think Pakhi’s changed stance is mostly because she witnessed the candy floss episode, as well as that late night miss-me-holding hand part. If she was deluded before, she is in the clear now, that even if Sai becomes a doctor, Virat has gone far beyond the point where he's ready to let her go.
It was the candy floss. It really blew away her i-am-his-"eye candy" feeling! 🤣
Thank you for pointing about the Othello Syndrome. Freud tells you that while jealousy is normal, there are also instances of abnormally intense jealousy which is constructed in 3 layers:
Competitive - Made up of a feeling of grief, the pain at the thought of losing a loved object (the object which ‘loved’ her and made her feel imp.) to a successful rival. Virat is for her, but an object. She has already made up her mind that Sai ‘stole’ him from her and has assumed Sai to be her competitor from day one. Today is the second time when Virat asked her to stop comparing herself with Sai. To me her jealousy at this stage seems to deprive her of any common sense. Agreed she left her career for this family, but at the end of the day, that was her choice. She chose to leave her career to marry into this family, be it for status, money, or Virat. In contrast, Sai’s reason for marrying was so that he`d help her become a doctor. When her very marriage is based on that, did they really think she was going to back down. If so, stupid, stupid of them!
Projection jealousy - we talked about this earlier, but this stems from her own desire to be unfaithful to her husband and since those impulses were repressed through SaiRat`s marriage, she is projecting the fact that Virat has been unfaithful to her.
The third - delusional jealousy - you’ve covered all the points on that. I just want to add that in this stage, people are very dangerous. Pakhi lurks in every category.
Wow ! 👏 I loved this detail. Thank you so much Keshni. Every day, I get to learn so much more about human behaviour through the exchange we have here. It's so deep, so complex, so spine chilling at a level but also has shades of warmth -- this human mind can turn any which way! And so true, PP lurks in all three categories of jealousy... The narcissism and the water-mirror face reference is so apt too. Am not going to forget it at all!
I am happy that Sai has Virat standing for her (not that she needs it), but my heart pains for Ashwini. Sigh. It pains me to see her, with her broken voice, yet providing Sai with the wings to fly. She is such a great support system. And I so loved when Sai stood up for her. The scene with Devi was such a nice touch on emotions. Shivani, the fact-checker nailed her part as well.
Oh it was soo emotional. I really had tears for Ashwini. That woman, filled with so much love and so much yearning. No wonder she recognised Sai through her first instinct at the gruh pravesh. I really, really wanted Virat to give one physical, real, thundering jhaapad to Ninad.
What a disgrace that man is! The moment when Ashwini tells Virat: Tu ne aaj apni biwi ke liye apni awaz uthayi, mujhe bohat garv hai main teri maa hoon -- Virat had tears in his eyes and he was only looking at Ninad. Uff! So many women go through this silently all their lives just because their spineless husbands cannot back them. I love Shivani. She is a badass of her generation.
And Sai has really come a long way from not mincing her words to her being on point with her words today. They’ve been attacking her for being badtameez, she just showed them their faces in the mirror today, and boy, was it ugly. No wonder Sonali was so incensed.
When I finished the epi, the only thought that I had was yeh log kitne pagal hain, totally beyond help. Ab bhagwan hi inka kuch karein.
Oh and btw, when biwi said that she would not mind moving to a hostel if she had to, Virat agreed, he definitely knows how his family functions now (ghar ki izzat and all). Waise what would you do, Mr. Chavan, should they allow her to leave for the hostel.
Oh their faces were enough to tell they aren't ready for the hostel. So all he had to do was to say "I agree" and frustrate them more 🤣 Nahi toh, we know what his reaction is when she mentions hostel in their private space 🤣🤣 Jo usko Usha Maushi ke kamre me nahi jaane dega, wo hostel jaane dega?
Special thanks to the proud husband that Mr. Chavan was today.
Agree. Aaj no chappals for the bechara 😆
