I continue to be amazed ki a story that is showing the dark shades of human nature is a surprising compelling watch.....maybe cuz they are showing it all mostly naturally.....the characters are not caricatures.....even Ramesh is disconcertingly natural in the way he thinks and behaves.....in most other shows, he'd be reduced to a caricature of an evil father who tortures his wife and daughters.....but he isn't evil....that is the more disconcerting part....he is mainly a frustrated man trying to control the women in his life....in other words, he represents atleast 50-60% of men in the world....just the degrees of behavior vary.

Before I get to Anokhi, I actually think the actor playing Ramesh should be acknowledged cuz he's acting very well.....Ramesh is awful to all the women in his house except his mom but the way he depicts his own POV is kudos to the actor who is able to bring out the way a frustrated, debilitated man behaves in lashing out at soft targets, especially women.

This episode actually was a window into how Anokhi has become the Anokhi she is today.....she probably always had a fierce side since childhood but she didn't how to channel it.....she probably bore 100s of verbal and physical lashings from her father while growing up and it somehow only strengthened her determination to stand up for herself.......Aastha provided that direction to her as her teacher/guru to channel her determination towards a goal.......and that is why we now see an Anokhi not flinching in the face of her father viciously beating her with a stick.

That scene was so powerful mainly because you see what happens when a person moves beyond fear....Anokhi at this stage of her life is fearless....Ramesh, like many men, operates under the presumption that he can scare women into subjugation either through threatening her or beating her....Anokhi inherently challenges that assumption when she doesn't even cower in the face of physical abuse. The way she was just glaring fiercely back at him as he kept on beating her showed that in that moment, SHE was the one with the power despite Ramesh thinking he is asserting power over her.....it ultimately comes down to mental strength despite what ppl think. The rest is subjective interpretation about what ppl think power is.....most would think that the one who was doing the beating is in a powerful position but Anokhi simply by refusing to flinch rendered him powerless.

Ramesh continues to treat her like cattle that he needs to sell off without liability.....that is why I think Anokhi is more averse than ever to shaadi.....her father has used shaadi as a threat over her all her life threatening to marry her off to put chains in her feet.

It really is amazing the all pervasive misogyny both big and small in the characters in this story....even the family that came for Anokhi's rishta managed to stick in a sly insinuation alleging that Anokhi has run off with some lover and not gone to college.....and the Sabharwals with their faltu drama of over-reacting over woh Kanchan ki social media video. Wahaan bhi it's more disconcerting that that Devi Tayi doesn't shout but soft si tone mein reprimand karti rehti hai Kanchan ko ki how dare you laugh and have fun at a party since you now a "bahu". And it's obvious ki yeh Taya-Tayi have deliberately kept Shaurya away from his mom to exercise control over him as the heir of the family.

The other touching bits were the one with Aastha when when she tells Ano ki you have to cross the dahleez/threshold to achieve your dreams and you have to be willing to pay the price of what you leave behind....that is the sad truth....again I love how they don't depict Aastha as some kind of raging blinded feminist wanting to burn everything down, but a woman who understands the cost of her choices and OWNS them.....never acting like a bechaari about any of her choices. She is reflective in an amazingly refreshing way for a female character on ITV.

My heart also broke for bechaari Babli when she kept saying, "Main nahin rok paayi Anokhi ko, aap maar lo mujhe".....how they've broken this poor girl's spirit by constantly berating her and beating her.....who knows how many women there must be out there like her....*sigh*.

Couldn't agree more to all of this. This was such a difficult scene to watch and is on paper but the execution of it was so brilliantly done with all the sensitivity and it worked so well. The destruction that started with the cycle to the cup to anokhi ultimately depicted Ramesh frustration really ell from hurting and breaking bejaan things who were helping anokhi to feel confident take pride in herself basically his tries to unarm her with all this taking away and have her agree to vyah and budge down but isse aur hi himmat mili anokhi ko and she went and with her head held high asked who are you to break my trophy I earned it and you can't disgrace it to take the stand and that rubbed him the wrong way again and all the frustration came put on anokhi to tame her. He really thinks she is his property. The whole mera haq hai bit Uncle haq or property samjhne main farak hota hai. But yes her determination and strength really baffled Ramesh khud hi he felt helpless instead of making anokhi feel helpless it depicted ke sab kuch lelo to break hosla but jahan chah hai wshan rah hai and khud pe bharosa. Anokhi ko aise shake nahi kia jaa sakta kar lontry. I also felt that itni chut mili hi aise hai iss bapu ko ke the other women never tried to stand up for them strongly they just accepted all this as their fate and they still keep enabling him abhi bhi they get scared and take the abuse all they need is a bit of courage to stand up and turn the tables and see how liberated they will feel and be bas ek hi lamha of himmat needed but wohi mushkil hota hai..what was even more mind-boggling was the biji enjoying it and watching maze se sadly yeh bhi truth hi hai these biji types take joy in seeing bahus and betis being beaten up as some kind of karmic justice or the cycle as in inke baad ab kisi aur ki bhi baari aayi hai instead of standing up for them.

Anokhi is in good hands with aastha but again aastha has a very limited hold over her too and eventually woh bapu isse bhi sunaye ga loser..they feel entitles to insult any woman casually character assassinate the moment they are not the multi of what they expect. I loved loved that scene too where anokhi and asshtha talked and asstha clearly told her that it was a very difficult choice she had to made she eventually crossed that dahleez mushkil tha but very necessary and ek tarah acha hi tha warna asj bhi yeh bhi baithi hoti taking all the accusations and verbal abuse for simply living and breathing like the other bahus of this family

Sach main aastha is refreshing with the right amount of nuance and layer ek dum sober and empowered she doesn't need someone to give her bhashan for that matter even anokhi they don't need someone to give them naari Shakti lectures they are strong in their own ways with their willpower and determination and just the dignity their character demand when they are on screen one wants to give respect. Sach hai respect maangi nahi jaati kamayi jaati hai

Her hair flick imitation are just too good , even Saahil does it better 😆. Uska paani phobia to abhi bhi bohot hai, he legit gets scared seeing paani ka glass in her hand or a mere mention of paani by her🤣

Billu and billu ke hair flicks bataya tha na yeh behan bhai are pro at it and the tush tush sound effects they do with it🤣 that makes it funnier..I esp.love when anika goes darr bhaith gaya hai na aapko haina haina paani ka darr🤣 ghabraiye nahi sorf peeve ke liye laa rabi hoon or when she makes random comments ke aap nahate bhi hain ya sorf aose hi suit pecan ke aa jaate hai due to your newly developed water phobia🤣 billu bechara

Ended up making some gifs on these scenes....haha so many lulz from baukhlaya Billu in this epi, especially as he tries to figure out a way to drop Anika himself.....OmRu also enjoying pulling his leg.....lol

And the "Chaliye, Jaayiye" bit was another level of LOL😆

another super episode of SAKK and bhai ab toh main danke ki chot pe bolti hoon i am a fan of anokhi. yeh ladki next level hai when it comes to resilience and standing in faceof injustice itna sab ke baad bhi she kept phodooing truth bombs from her locked room and straight away told the bapu koi ehsaan vehsaan nahi kia uspe when the bapu was trying to phir se be a bechara ke maine socha tha dedoonga permission and her going nahi chahiye kisi ki permission and bapu yeh bhi sun le ke she is an adulta nd has rights and can call police on him . phir iss bande ke paas kuch raha nahi toh turned the guns towards his wife and bubbly and aashtha maam ke ab unki class lega and unn jaisi auratein hoti hai jo samaj bigaad deti hai with their thinkign adn teacher ne yeh sikahaya.

whta i am really enjoying is the drama factor is really high yet they keep it subdued matlab trp side ko bhi enough content mile and substance bhi ho in all it. i like ke faltu ke bilawajah rasode main kaun tha topics pe keeche nahi jaa rahe things. one can see all the sides and characters . they are so all so well etched and the writing does have promise so far.

dusri taraf as expected woth devi emotionally blackmailed shaurya over the picture with ehr jo bhi hoon hoon toh moonh boli ab 25 yrs baaad yeh aastha aa ke tujhe mujhse cheenlegi toh main kya kar loongi yada yada and shaurya bechara got persuaded and went koi nahi aayega. she is so manipulative omg . her and her husband are *censored jerks* they are now picking on kanchan aise hi caz apparently usne inki izzat neeche kar di by gettign tag wah LOSERS aaj uski insult ki gayi over phulka not being phula when served i liked that shaurya did tried to take her side and went changay bhalle toh hai phulke and also told his loser sisters ke khud kabhi kitchen ka moonh dekha hai when they were siding with the stupid tau ji and told them ke practice kar lein toh acha hai n actually gayatri retorted tot he daughters ke bhabhi se badtameezi kyon kar rahe ho khud kitchen dekha nahi toh shaurya said ke haan practice toh kar leni chahiye when that devi again went but how can they step in kitchen they are daughters and apne ghar jake kar lengi and now thye have full right to pick on bhabhi ughghghgh.

i really am enjoying gayatri and kanchan ki bonding the way they shared those looks when woh devi made a thakeli roti in the oven . i really like how they can see through the nonsense and aapas main hi sahi baat toh karti hain woh kanchan asked ke agar itne hi problems hain hum main toh bahu bana ke laaye kyon to which gayatri told her to show their badakpan and mahanta to the world again ke middle class ki bahus laaye jinke parents can't support and rather become karazdar ke beti itne bade ghar main byah ke lekar gaye that they constantly need this jhooti tareefein and praise and yeh ehsaan wala feeling ke we are above you.

ANokhi and Bubbly scene again ek dum dil ko laga with both sisters trying to lagao lep on each other and bubbly telling her ke dard ko itna chupana bhi theek nahi hai and anokhi retorting ke usko kuch dard hua hi nahi caz woh dheet ho gayi hai and saying ke woh papase nafrat nahi karti bas unki soch se karti hai she can't stand it and woh shaadi kyon kare pehle papa ki suni ab aage pati ke order pe chale why she wants to be independent and that it is called feminism and she is pro feminism she doesnt need anyone and kaise bhi she will acheive her goals and padhe gi hi woh. bohat zabaradat scene hai yeh wala bhi ek dum worth enjoying and seeti marooing this girl is winning my heart bog time and i am kinda getting too attached now with anokhi and the content of the show and execution

there was also a bit of aashtha her parents are alive i guess th e2 people on sofa were her parents my assumption bascially she had the diary writing session that she knows how much devi has polluted shaurya ka mind but today when she sees anokhi jaise students she feels proud and feels that kahin na kahin uski qurbaani waste nahi gayi very touching bit and then her recieving anokhi's text ke woh theek hai. i esp loved that bit caz anokhi ka jo lagav hai na bohat pyara hai the one person she feels totally commiteed and dedicated too ke maam ko batana zaroori hai. the way she holds her on a pedestal is rather admirable.

again anokhi was the show stealer and i am totally hooked and in love with the show * kaal teeka Anika wala thu thu * nazar na lag jaaye

Same....but I'm also reminding myself ki abhi 2 weeks ka trial period khatam nahin hua hai after which writing usually tanks suddenly😆.....I'm not sure how much of the current epis are part of the bank shot in advance ki ab ongoing shooting waale portion ke epis hain.....that is when the quality usually shifts.

Anokhi toh next level badass hai😆.....I'm surprised ki Khyati ne yeh nahin bataya....lol she mentioned ki woh Sai waale show ki FL badass hai but Anokhi is the real waali badass.

Her cold fury as she was pacing in the locked up room and shouting back at her father ki main vyaah karvauna hi nahin.....lol and woh Ramesh ki haalat hearing her retorts....he was just sputtering uselessly ki he still didn't manage to suppress her spirit....aur woh beeji side mein constantly instigating him to keep sunaaoing Rama and Babli also.....horrible maa-beta. The thing worth noting was how they believably managed to build up the tense atmosphere around the incident of Anokhi being locked up in the room and it was still compelling viewing.....matlab so far mujhe koi bhi epi forward nahin karna pad raha and that is a pleasant surprise.

TRP elements daalne ki koshish toh hai vis a vis Maa-beta ki MU/seperation and a manipulative Devi trying to seperate them.....and Aastha hoping one day Shaurya understands her.....but the treatment is so subtle and from Aastha's side, the POV is so progressive that I dunno if TRP junta will bite....lol they want bechaari majboor stuff in the dramatics.....and Aastha isn't majboor enough for them even if she pines for her son😆.

And on the other side is Anokhi....lol woh toh alag level ka patakha hai....they gave her dialogues about feminism today toh seems like the show is trying to be educative about a progressive viewpoint....it's quite a bold step for a GEC cuz yeh sab stuff se usually TRP junta ko allergy hai....feminism ka tag has been mutilated through so much empty naarebaazi that ppl don't get it and just consider it some "extreme ideology"....TRP junta ke liye "progressive" stuff is child marriage rok dena ala BV.....that is the most they can stretch themselves to....anything beyond that is too radical a shift.

I'm just amazed at the things this show is trying to depict.....lol woh phulka scene at the dining table.....god knows kitne gharon ki kahaani hai....so many men used to sitting at the table expecting a perfect meal and sunaaoing if ek bhi cheez unke taste ke hisaab se na ho.....lol and this show actually wove in so many things into the scene.....the men castigating the new bahu for not making the perfect phooli hui roti, the saas berating the bahu for not managing to learn anything she taught her, new age misogynist Shaurya chiming in ki ghar ki betiyon ko abhi se sikha do so that they don't have to listen in sasural....toh Devi saas pivoting and saying betis don't need to learn anything now, they will magically learn in sasural😆....and the convo b/w Gayatri-Kanchan in the kitchen where Kanchan asks the obvious question that if they think I'm so bad, why did they bring me here as a bahu.....and Gayatri ka candid answer....cuz they need majboor women like us who feel inferior to them as a family and will take anything they say to us.....lol....cuz an actual bahu of their so called "standard" would throw all this in their face and take off in 2 days. I'm really enjoying Gayatri-Kanchan scenes😆....itni candid baatein bolte hain about the dynamics for women in their sasural.

And the men at the dining table talking about how they married that Yash to Kanchan to sudhaaro him but now they have the "misfortune" of having to "sudhaaro" bahu Kanchan.....lol matlab amazing sense of misogynistic entitlement....khud hi bahu laao and phir constantly bahu ko bojh ki tarhaan treat karo.....amazing logic....lol

Aastha-wise, I loved the little bit when she's writing in her diary and reflecting about Anokhi too....so her parents are still alive....chalo achha hai she still has some family support in her home and akeli nahin reh rahi.

I know tumhein repetitive lagta hai but I like the bits when Anokhi reiterates that she is ANOKHI, kisi ki parchhayi nahin hai.....lol.....it just hits home regarding how truly different her character is....unwilling to be a shadow to anyone, unwilling to be suppressed by anyone. That bit when she's ranting in the end ki puri zindagi Papaji ki suno aur aage jaake Pati ki suno? Hell no😆.....I'm really loving this girl right now😆.....but yeah, kaala teeka lagaa hi lo ki iski yeh spirit suppress na ho.

Oh one bit I forgot to mention that I also loved.....lol when the Baapu was trying to jataao his ehsaan by giving "permission" to Anokhi about studies and all, the way she blasted him to remind him that all her education has been funded without his meherbaani😆.....that she studied in a govt school most of her life and currently she's on scholarship in this Gurdaspur college so he hasn't exactly done her any favors....lol....wahaan bhi hekdi nikal gayi thodi Baapu ki when she reminded him that he only took a loan to fund his SON's education, never his daughter's.

Itne saare toh roadblocks daale Anokhi ke saamne all her life, no wonder she's toughened up as she was saying to her sister also.....ki ab toh dard hota hi nahin.....chamdi bhi dheet ho gayi hai uski tarhaan....lol Baapu has inadvertently managed to create a very tough creature in Anokhi by being cruel to her....now she isn't intimidated by anything anymore.

I was amazed that even after all this she said she doesn't hate her father.....she just hates his soch.
