According to kusum dola it was rono (virat) youngest bua kumo who was mentally ill. She was love with ananya bose and married him but her conservative family didn't expect that and they were separated. Later she lost her mind and she delivered a boy who was anirban ( sunny).

Well... I don't see Sunny being Devi's son in this version at least😕...Although I'm guessing the general gist is same. I'm sure she's not faking, Devi just doesn't seem to like her mom, and her mom loves Pakhi. Which maybe hurts her (because Kaku doesn't EVER talk nicely to Devi) and also annoys her (why does Pakhi get my mom's love and I don't).

(Which doesn't bode well for SaiRat's future trajectory but we'll get there when we get there....)

She lost mental balance because of tragedy of her life . But that doesn't mean she has no brain to understand . She wasn't born like this but situation made her like this . As per her talk it looked like she went to college too. And about other people's pol kholo things she roams around whole day in house and whatever she listens she speaks up whenever she felt they are discussing on same issues.

My guess is that she went to college and fell in love with someone from a different caste, maybe eloped and married.

Kaku as usual doesn't like it and probably separated her from her husband and kept at home. Either kaku is evil and she gave her drugs to make her go crazy or Devi went crazy being separated from her hubby.

Also guessing Samrat and Virat don't know the details as they might be younger than her.

She has childlike behaviour but she can grasp certain things. She has probably picked the vibe from Pakhi. She used to be normal, so she knows what kind of a woman her mother is.
