ACCIDENT
Around 11 pm in the night , a man in his late 20s in a Toyota Innova Crysta was driving down in the highway in high speed while texting to someone in his phone ignoring the sign board placed on the side of the road .
.He failed to notice a truck coming .. but he saw it at the nick of the time . He tried to control the steering wheel ... The thing which scared him to death was the huge truck carrying petroleum was just few meters away .So.. to prevent a fatal accident,he turned his steering wheel to left and crashed his car in the big tree. In the hope of surviving.
Due to the force, he hit his head hard in the steering wheel and the air bag inflated. He slowly got down from the car holding his head and saw his brand new Toyota car being crashed so badly . But a let a small sigh thinking about his narrow escape from death.
He stamped his foot in anger .he peeped into the car looking for his mobile , but couldn’t find it in that mess .
Then He looked around for help , but as far as he can saw..no one were there ..
So He started walking towards the city to seek help . After few steps of walking, he felt like someone is stalking behind him .. he stopped and turned to see .. a beautiful young girl .
“ who are you ? Why are you following me ? “ he asked her sternly narrowing his eyebrows . She introduced herself as Roli and before she could say anything further , he interrupted and said “ listen I know I am very handsome.. but look I am hardcore single and not interested in any relationships “ . Roli rolled her eyes and replied “ hello Mr.......”
“ Siddhant ... Siddhant Bhardwaj “ he said .
“ ok .. mr.siddhant ... you handsome ?
First of all you like a cartoon ..( Siddhant frowned at this sentence of hers which was ignored by roli ) then I just saw that you car crashed .. that’s why came to see .. “
“ Thanks for your concern “ he said bluntly and turned to go .
“How rude ? ..“ uttered Roli and took her mouth to one side ..
Siddhant didn’t to give a damn to her .. and continued his walking .. and stopped abruptly listening to roli’s question .
She asked him how long is he planning to walk ?! .. he started to ponder upon her question as he doesn’t know how long will it take for him to reach the city . As far he remembers seeing the google map last time .. it showed that he will reach the city in 4hrs by car .. then thinking about the time that will take him to reach the city by walk .. a lump formed in his throat and he gulped his saliva .
He saw roli going somewhere inside the side of the highway road . He asked her where is she going . Hearing his question .. she smirked and replied that she knows that she is beautiful but sorry to break his heart .. she is also a hardcore single and is not interested in any relationship.
Hearing her reply , Siddhant rolled his eyes and said ,” listen .. I.. “ he sentence was left incomplete as Roli interrupted and said to him that she is going to her house . Siddhant got confused hearing that . Seeing his confused face , she clarified to him that there is a small village deep inside and there is no road which leads to this tiny hamlet so we have to walk inside for few distance and then there is a mud road made by the villagers.
“But the google map didn’t show about any Village near this highway “ he asked .
She replied,” many small villages will be missing in your google map .. “..
“ ohh “ reacts Sid .
“By the way if you want then you can come to my house and take a look at my magnificent village “ said Roli ..
Siddhant gives her a suspicious look
Roli seeing his look says ,” don’t worry mr. handsome , I won’t take any advantage of you “ . Siddhant felt that it would be better to go with her to the village where he can get some help rather than walking for more than 7hours to reach the city .. so he accepts to go with her to the village .
Roli leads the way .. on the way she initiates a conversation asking him about his family , his occupation and all .. to which Sid stopped walking and gave her a glare . Roli asks him what .. he folds his arms and says, “ someone assured me that they won’t take advantage of me “ ..
Roli huffs and asks him sorry and starts walking silently.
While walking , he looks at Roli then and now .. which didn’t go unnoticed by Roli .. now Roli stopped on her track and asked ,” why are you staring at me like that .. wait a min .. are you taking advantage of me now ? “ .. he rolled his eyes and replies ,” hello miss.beautiful .. I just saw because I felt like I have seen your face somewhere before .. that’s why i was thinking where did i see ..”
“ you have seen me before ?! Woww .. I itself never knew that I am that famous “ said roli excitedly..
Siddhant looked the surrounding and asked her how long should they walk more .. Roli said that they will reach within few mins .. and then asked him if his legs are paining or what .. he replied that astonishingly his legs are not paining ....
After few mins of their walk , they reach the village .... it was really magnificent as Roli said ..especially the night view ..
Siddhant loved the night view .. Roli snapped her fingers in front of him and asked him if he is done enjoying the view then can they move on to her house .. “don’t take try to take any advantage”he said . Roli glared at him and said ,” Mr. handsome ..just do one thing , till we reach my home ..walk two steps behind me and don’t worry after reaching my house also .. I have no idea of taking any advantage .. “ and walked .
As she said siddhant walked two steps behind her seeing which roli felt like hitting her head somewhere. She just huffed and walked faster .
Finally they reached her home .. it was a two storey house with a balcony .. Sid was surprised seeing such a house in a village .. she opened the gate and welcomed sid . He entered in hesitatingly as he saw the neighbors who had gathered around when roli opened the gate ..gossiping something seeing them .
He felt little awkward about it . So As soon as he entered, he asked Roli if she is not bothered about what will her neighbors think when she brought a handsome man like me to her house .
Roli shot a glare and replied that she is no where bothered with others thoughts and she on all the lights and fan and then walked upstairs.
Siddhant shrugged his shoulders and sat in the sofa .... he looked around the house .. and found lots of art works and paintings .
Roli descended down from the stairs and found him looking at her paintings .
She asked him if he is interested in paintings .. he nodded his head and said his thoughts about paintings and arts . Then he said that he never imagined to find such an furnished and modded architected house in a village .
Roli replied that it was her dream house and being a architect it was she and her father , an interior designer who designed every corner of the house .
He got pleasantly shocked hearing that roli is an architect .
Roli stated that her native is this village but studies and job all in the city only .
He asks her about her parents .. Roli asked ,” is someone trying to take advantage now ?! “ .. that’s enough for Siddhant to shut his mouth . Roli giggled seeing his reaction.
His eyes roam here and there .. and finds an envelope with his name on it .. he moves closer to see it ..But all of a sudden electricity went .. Siddhant gulped his saliva and requested Roli to be with him ... Roli raised her eyebrows and asks if he is afraid of dark ?! .. he shouts “ No “ trying to hide his fear . Roli excuses herself and goes to the kitchen to bring candles .
She takes the candles and turns to find Siddhant standing there smiling sheepishly. Before she could ask anything he says that he came to help her to lit the candle . Roli gave ..like seriously look .
“ whatever “ she mumbled and lit the candle . And they both went to the dining room and sat .
Silence prevailed . This silence made Sid to get scared more because of the darkness . So he decided to break the silence and asked her if she is not afraid to be alone . She nodded implying no . Then he asked if she is not afraid of any ghosts and all as he heard one of the neighbor gossiping about a haunted house in the village . she brought her face near to the candle and said ,” I am myself is a ghost “ and smiled . Siddhant commented that even without those effects , she looks like a ghost only . Roli frowned .
Siddhant smiled sheepishly and turned his face to the other side . Roli thinks to tease him .. so she slowly stands and goes behind him and whispers his name in his ears .. Siddhant jerked and got up from the chair and turned around with a shout (Electicity came back) and found Roli laughing loudly holding her stomach . He glared at her . Roli commented that for the first time she is seeing a ghost getting scared seeing another ghost .. Siddhant took a pillow from the nearby sofa and started chasing her .. they both ran around for sometime and sat down in the sofa ..
Then Siddhant suggested to see some movie .. and Roli played a latest one she had . They both enjoyed the movie.
during a romantic scene in the movie .. Siddhant looked at Roli who was sitting with a pillow on her lap and coincidentally she too looked at him ..they had a cute eye lock ..
Hearing the movie sound .. they both broke the eye lock and looked around everywhere except at each other . To save the situation from becoming more awkward .. Roli excused herself and went to the kitchen . Siddhant hit his playfully and went out ..
The moment when his eyes met with hers .. though it was not more than two seconds ..he felt something very different .. it was magical .. he felt like falling into it . her smile warmth him and felt alive ..when spending time with her .. their talks , their egotistic replies .. he is enjoying that .........in his 28yrs of life ... he always had a programmed life .. he never had to spend some quality of time being himself .. in office he had to be a good boss , in home - a good son .. but this moment .. it’s only Siddhant .. he knew that it is not any love at first sight but he is damn sure that he is in love now .. love with her .. his bachelor life is going to come to an soon . He smiled ..
Roli called out his name .. Siddhant replied that he will come in a minute....
When Siddhant turned to go inside .. he found something seeing which his smile faded away . He went out of the house and properly opened the crumpled poster
With Roli’s picture in it .
In loving memory of ...Roli diwedi ..
he was rooted to the spot seeing it ..
And read further and got to know that Roli died five days ago in a car accident in the highway . And yeah as he had said he had seen her photo flashing on the news channels mentioned about the terrible accident which happened in the highway . Now he understood about the neighbors gossiping about him when he entered the house and the haunted house they were talking about was not any other house .. it was Roli’s house only . he literally spended time with a ghost and he loved a ghost ...
Again he heard Roli calling him .. the very thought of him being with a ghost made him speechless.. without waiting there for any more second .. he ran away from there as fast he could .....
Roli came out as she didn’t get any response from him .. but doesn’t find him anywhere . The half crumpled poster grabs her attention.. seeing that she understood what might have happened . She went behind him .
Here Siddhant ran as fast as his leg could carry him .. somehow he managed to reach the highway .. there he spotted few people around his car .. he went near them and asked them to save him from roli . But none payed any attention to him .. they were busy talking about something.. it was only then he saw his body being removed from the driver seat to a stretcher which was brought in an ambulance.. he was taken aback ..
He moved back seeing the scenario happening in front of him and sat down shattered . Few reporters came and started covering the news stating that well established businessman Siddhant Bharadwaj met with an accident in the highway and was spot dead .
Someone placed a hand on his shoulder .. he turns and finds Roli ..
“ miss.beautiful , am I a ghost too ?! “ asked Siddhant with a puppy face .
Roli replied ,” mr.handsome, happy late realization “ . Siddhant couldn’t believe that he is a wandering soul - a ghost .
Siddhant asked her how did he die ?! ..in despair . Roli replies “ how means ? You met with an accident man .. and you got injured badly .. and .. “ .
Siddhant signaled her to stop as he can understand what might have happened..
and that Roli’s neighbours .. they were gossiping seeing how a gate opened on its own , light and movie sound inside a house where no one lives now . And what Roli said before .. a ghost is getting scared seeing another ghost . And mainly he loved a ghost .. being a ghost . A ghost love story .
Roli sees him sitting quietly .. she wanted to give him a hug and say that it is too late to repent .to cheer him up .. she sat in front of him and opened her arms and said ,” ghost hug .. you can’t feel it but it is there “ . Siddhant smiled hearing that .
“Miss Beautiful.. sorry bhoottiful .. thank you ....” said Siddhant . Both laughed .
It was then he remembered about seeing an envelope in her house with his name on it . He asks her about it . She replied that last week her father bought that for my marriage alliance .. it had Sid’s photo and all details .. her father also said that he will be perfect match for her as they both had some similarities.. and all .. but before they could proceed further .. she and her father met with an accident and .....
then her father went to meet her mother who was waiting for her in heaven for almost 7 years and she is roaming here .
Siddhant got surprised hearing that .. he slowly asked her what was her first opinion seeing his photo and details . She dreamily said that it was love at first for her .. forgetting the presence of Sid ..
Sid smiled wide hearing that .. he bent on his knees and forwarded his hand and folded his hand as if he is holding something.. Roli raised her eyebrows asking him what .. he replied that it is a ghost flower .. it is there but you can’t see it .. and confessed his feelings to her .. Roli happily accepted his proposal ..
and as the surrounding was so disturbing .. they both started walking in the highway ..
“Siddhant ji , where do you want to go - heaven or hell ?! “ asked Roli .. Siddhant stopped on his tracks and asked doesn’t she get any other topic to ask/ talk .. she replied as a ghost .. this will be a perfect topic to talk upon .. Siddhant shaked his head in despair and answered that even hell be heaven for him if Roli is with him..
Roli went aww hearing that ........
Then Rosid sees the sign board which they both ignored while driving - DONT USE PHONE WHILE DRIVING .
“ I wish I had followed this board “ muttered Sid . “ me too “ said Roli .. Sid turned towards Roli and asked what she meant ..” as my father said we both shared similarities.. even I ignored this board and now roaming like this with you . “ stated Roli .
“ So you also bought Ticket your death by using phone while driving ? “ asked Sid .
Roli nodded her head positively .
